  1. Hello all Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, typically family life getting in the way of having fun I managed to find a 1/48 scale sea king so now the hunt is on to convert it to a Sea King Mark 4, the type flown by the Royal Navy. I know that flightpath do something along these lines but i cannot find out what its contents are. The person i am making this model for worked on these platforms for years until recent so knows whats whgat on them and i would like to get it as realistic as possible. Does someone know exactly what is within the flightpath conversion kit?
  2. Do you know if they are still stocked? can i confirm this is the 1/48 scale?
  3. Just a question about the white engisn models. Are they plastic or white metal? i have seen pictures of a 1/700 model that in my opinion needs quite a lot of work to get a good result. i do like my models to have good clean lines not everything rounded off straight out of a mold. sorry, hope i have not offended anyone.
  4. Bloody heck, i like him, but not that much?????????? especially the £140+VAT
  5. I have taken on a task to build a family member a couple of models and hope to give them to him on his birthday. I have asked questions on the Aircraft area so now its time for the ships. He left the RN a while back and I would like to build a model of his last ship, HMS Westminster, a type 23 frigate (but i bet you knew this already) i have had a little search around on the internet and realise this is not a mass produced model. Does anyone know where i can buy a decent type 23 frigate plastic model that when finished will look pretty smart for an old sea dog to blub over?
  6. Thanks very much. After much deliberating and not telling the wife i am deciding it might be easier and a more satisfying to build the 1/48 scal seaking, using conversion kit. so if you dont mind the same question still stands but in the 1/48 scale. Plus, typically has i have chosen this now it appears to be very difficult to get hold on one of the 1/48 Hasagawa kits. What comes in the 1/48 flightpath kit? Does this have the correct stub wheel sponsons and defensive aid add ons? I want to finish with a great and realistic model, i am doing this for a family member who worked on this Aircraft for a number of years and thought it would be great to give him as a birthday present. i have done the odd model and enjoyed doing so, well except the moaning wife wanting me to do stuff around the house, or get rid of those stinking paints and dust collecting models, i bet many of you expert modellers suffer the same. To get to the excellent completion i know will take time, effort and making do, but am i expecting too much?
  7. Hello all. i am very new to this modelling lark so please bear with me and my stupid questions. I am looking at building a Seaking Mark 4 (or junglie as they are known in military circles) but am having real difficulty in locating the correct parts for the size of model i want to try first. I am looking at starting with a 1/72 scale size. obviously there are one or two models available but all come with the wrong sponsons. I have searched and search the internet looking for such items in the 1/72 scale and have failed. I hope one of you experts can help me here. I would be willing for any other advice on extras needed to complete the perfect model. I am looking at doing one with the recent modifications with the Defensive Aids fitted, but understand this will not be completely upto date with Carson and the 5 bladed tail rotor. i would ideally like to complete one within the time scales of their Bosnia IFOR/SFOR era, with the famous green and white strippy paint job. Am i expecting too much?
