  1. Hi Jonathan, Thanks for getting back to me on this one, i will take a look at the Aeroclub seats and scratch a few details in the pit, If the end result looks like a Tornado thats good enough for me, Thanks for the help Mick.
  2. Hello good evening, First i would like to say that i have a passion for building Airfix kits old and new, ive now got to the pile of Tornado kits in the stash 2 x GR1 and 3 x GR4 plus ive got quite a collection of Extradecal sheets to help with the builds, I was wondering what others may suggest as to minor upgrades and any other issues that might need looking at, my hope is that i can build these OTB without to much extra work unless it is needed. Cheers Mick.
  3. Many thanks for the information regarding the kits i have in question this is a great help to planning my project all i have to do now is find the ultimate Spitfire book to help me on my way and find some good 1:72 & 1:48 scale plans. Cheers Mick.
  4. Hello further to my 1:72 scale Spitfire project i also want to do some 1:48 builds and was wondering what kits are worth a look. Thanks Mick.
  5. Hi Wooksta. Thanks for the reply ive ordered the FR18 tail conversion,as for the Heller F.XVIe i am looking for a couple of these at the moment i also picked up another Airfix Ia and a couple of V's today, ive had a good look on the Hannants site at decals today and there are lots to choose from trouble is i am not sure what manufacture to go for because i don't want a bag of trash perhaps you can advise here. I do have most of the parts for the Academy kit so i will sling that together at some point, i am also looking forward to the new Airfix pair i will get a few of these thanks for your help Mick.
  6. Hi Wooksta I dunno i think the bin is a little harsh for the Academy kit,the perpendicular error of the radiators is an easy fix and along with aftermarket wheels, vac canopy and prop i think it will turn out ok. Cheers Mick.
  7. Hello and good evening Many thanks for the great replys i will get on the Aeroclub site and get me a set or two of the Vc wings and i will also build some straight Vb's, My main aim here is to build quite a few spits as my late father who passed some 30 years ago was a big spitfire fan and i remember when i was a lad watching him build his Airfix Spitfires and some from wood with plans layed out on the table and also the visits to the airshows to look at his passion so my aim is to build a nice display case in his memory. So far i have 4 Airfix Vs,4 Airfix Mk1,ive got my eye on the two new releases from Airfix when they arrive on our shelves and ive also got Academy's Mk XIVc and Fujimi Mk XIVe plus lots of aftermarket parts and a full set of WEM RAF paints ive still got more books on the list and i hope to get going with this project around September after the Shoreham Airshow, I still have to find a couple of bubble tops this is not that easy it seems as the CMK Resin kits are way to expensive for me. Thanks for the great help i feel ive come to the right place for help with this project. Regards Mick.
  8. Hello in my introduction to the site i mentioned that i wish to start a 1:72 Spitfire project well to start this off i need a little help with a few things, all aircraft will be RAF now i hope you can point me in the direction of aftermarket decals of good quality for the above marks. Also while i am here what is the best engraving tool to use for panel lines in this scale without spending a fortune as i see the Airfix kit has raised panel lines and the Vc wings are engraved and that will look odd. Many thanks Mick.
