1:72 Valom Northrop BT-1 Dive Bomber
Max Headroom replied to Navy Bird's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
This look interesting (if a bit bloody). I’ll cheer from the sides. Trevor -
Not me - too young

Only just caught up with this. I employ the ‘creeping inevitability’ theory. Airfix are doing a good job on producing trainers in both usual scales. One year, hopefully in my lifetime, they will say “we’ve done everything else, stuff it…..it’s Balliol time!” There’s natural metal, high speed silver, various yellow, blue and dayglo bits. Don’t forget the red one! Merlins, Mambas and Mercuries up front. Two styles of canopy and tail. And don’t forget the vast and so far untapped Sri Lankan market. It’ll be massive. And I’ll buy at least two. Trevor

Looks amazing. I’ll see what RAF options are offered (btw any hints of a SAAF option in there?) Hopefully a Jag next? Trevor

A Ford Ranchero in Hereford. Looking for all the world like an American Ute, goggle fu-ing leads me to believe it’s late 50’s or so.Round rear lights and ‘mini wings’ if that helps tie it down. Trevor

All the Hurricane questions you want to ask here
Max Headroom replied to Sean_M's topic in Aircraft WWII
Not a question, but just found this at the excellent cafe in Chesil Beach A bit of Hurricane apparently, it’s exhibited with remnants of a Merlin nearby. No idea of the provenance but there is a bit of Interior Green on it. Not scientific by any means but it’s not a million miles away from Hu78. Usual caveat about weathering, exposure, salt contamination etc. Trevor -
On my holibops in a cottage in Dorset. This afternoon I heard a rumbling something. Moments later PA474 flies over at about 400’ in what I can only describe as a ‘stately progression’. Highlight of my day Trevor

I was doing 70 in the outside lane and he was stuck behind a lorry! Trevor

I overtook a GT40 on the M6 today Trevor

But everyone will agree that the marking options are excellent Trevor
-
Unusual but it would be a nice size in 1/48. Careful spruage (is that a word?) could get multiple marks. My personal preference would be for a III. Engine options and changes in glazing would cover most of the main marks. Not sure what wing mods there were between marks. Anyone one have a dummies guide to the main differences? Trevor

International Octopus Union? Curious!

Good calls on the P-47 - high and low back (separate boxings!) and Boston. Not as if there are no available examples or schemes. I’d forgotten about re issues. Skyvan would be nice. Bird Dog, Bulldog and Piper Arrow wouldn’t use up much plastic either. Trevor

There is the apocryphal beer mat or ‘tax in post’ option for the tax disc! Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I always thought the disc had to be on the right hand side of the screen when looking from the front, because that was usually the side nearest to the pavement and so safer for the police and traffic wardens to check? Convention was usually the bottom right hand corner. Trevor

Couldn’t Airfix do a small correction sprue? How practical/expensive would that be? Trevor

Hi @Thatsmyboy That sounds plausible. Will you do a WIP? Let’s see if I can finish mine this weekend! Trevor

Are not banana flavoured @bootneck I was there several years ago. The building was demolished and the site boarded up. There was however a plaque in the pavement commemorating the fact that this was 77 Sunset Strip
