  1. Didn't it come out with an USMC option originally? MH
  2. see the thread here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...37684&st=20 MH
  3. A number of civilianised versions potter through Livepool city centre daily, starting and finishing in Albert Dock. As far as I know, this is the only one with a sharkmouth! Just google 'yellow duckmarine' for other examples. http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/24891683.jpg MH
  4. I bought the Hurricane IIC and failed to get the underfuselage fillet to snap into place with the fuselage, even when I removed the locating lugs. For that reason alone it's a dog. On a happier note the F86F-30 is a delight and goes together like a dream. The only reason it's not finished and displayed for your edification is my painting skills (think dyslexic chimp wearing boxing gloves whilst wielding a hairy stick) - Mr. Muscle oven spray and a plastic bag I think............. MH
  5. Please comfort me by saying it will stay grey/green. 'Pink' and grey Jags are awful (as is any aircraft..........look just don't get me started ok?) MH
  6. Real beer is brown and is pumped manually http://www.thefoxandhoundsinn.com/images/beer_pumps.jpg ...........and for the ultimate arbitrators of this nectar, http://www.camra.org.uk/ my preferred tipple is Cains http://www.cainsbeers.com/index/articles_v...;first_art=true yes they do "lager" but GQ called it the best in the world so that kind of takes the hex off it ..........and now back to the thread
  7. A couple of thoughts here. I saw in an old Airfix Magazine (?) a picture of a rear three quarters port side shot of a 43 Sqn Hunter possibly in West Germany zapped with a maple leaf on its roundel. The caption suggested that this was the first recorded 'zap' However, there was a rumour that as HMS Hermes sailed to the South Atlantic in 1982, underneath the name on the stern was painted the slogan "The Empire Strikes Back". A friend who was posted on her at the time wouldn't confirm this one way or the other. I'm still none the wiser, but hope it was true! MH
  8. Oliver My gast is totally flabbered. Stunning, simply stunning. MH If I ever make a model half as good as yours, you will still be twice as good as me
  9. Very good so far! Have you decided on a colour scheme? If not I suggest pillar box red with the white lengthwise stripes along the boonet a la Mini Cooper perhaps? Keep whittling MH
  10. Fantastic build for that price! I am tempted myself but our local Modelzone in Liverpool must have thought that the catalogue price was a mistake and has added another tenner! Not surprisingly they have stayed on the shelves. As yet I have not had the bottle to tell them................. MH
  11. Slightly off topic, I remember reading somewhere that the nose lengths of Grumman and Eastern Motors built examples differed. If true, has this been catered for in plastic? Again if true, is this reflected in FAA designations? MH
  12. What about this thing? A product of an A-4 and an F-4 being mashed together in the dark wearing boxing gloves, it refused to fly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockwell_XFV-12 WHIF or what? C'mon someone wants to build this......................... MH
  13. The Finns may disagree about the Buffalo and Blenheim. MH
  14. Not a problem for me. I have a set of Almark sheets for PRU birds and there is a very nice XIX on it MH
  15. Talking of early Spit interiors, didn't somebody conclude that the first ones had an apple green interior rather than grey/green and that the RAFM mk.1 was renovated thus? Incidentally, would that also read across for pre war Walruses?? Confused.com MH
  16. All my builds are technically KUTA II! However, my ZTS Plastyk Frog clone Javelin in A&AEE red/white stalled about a decade ago, so that could be a goer. Is there a time limit before KUTA III starts? MH
  17. Good grief that's amazing!!!!! If there was a 'take my hat off' emicion it would be here! C'mon Trumpeter if you are doing a 1/32 Jaguar.......... MH
  18. Love it! Especially the 'worn' metal appearance
  19. Olympic standard mate. If you don't go home with an armful of awards you will have been robbed! MH
  20. Just love the highlighting of the panel lines and rivetting. Excellent build! MH
  21. Add to that list Cammel Laird in Birkenhead (Frank Field - Labour) which is to build part of the flight deck (thinx - they managed to build two complete Ark Royals.................) MH
  22. Speedy Sorry but it worked for me when I road tested it Dave The Airfix website has it as unavailable, so I thought it was notmout yet! Must buy one then MH
  23. Old news to many of you I'm sure , but look at the artwork. It's begging me to buy it..........several times. http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/airc...&sortorder= If it's proper box art on their site, it must mean that it will be released into the wild soon? The Nats? Yours with bated breath. MH
