It's Britmodeller. Weird happens daily. The Ordinary has been Exorcised due to lack of interest.
Nice to see this one back. Dihedral? I'm far from being expert, but your Mk III looks more like it.
Thanks.
I was wondering if either were right! The III looks too shallow and the IX too deep. I’d be interested to see other completed IX’s for comparison.

Hello again.
I suppose over the Easter break everyone has had ‘jobs’ to do. Mine (I was told) was to sort out the garage and make room. Fair enough, I have old half built models and boxes with empty sprues that I never quite got around to throwing away. So I spent a couple of hours culling and this morning the Council recyclers took away the excess….
One result was that it kick-started my modelling mojo again and so I unearthed the Frankenspit project.
However before I continue working on Franky, I’m also introducing the parallel Eduard IX build, as some of its spares will end up here.
There was something I noticed and made me wonder
That’s a massive difference in dihedral. Which one (if either) is right?
One thing I needed to do before adding the rudder and tailplane was to look at the tailwheel, as the III had a retractable assembly. A bit of cutting around got me this. The Eduard sprues have a spare retractable tailwheel and doors which will find their way here, once I’ve bodged an anchoring point for the wheel.
Now before you wonder, yes there is a problem with the photos. For some reason there are ‘error’ and ‘forbidden messages cropping up. Hopefully the links will still work, albeit manually.
I’m off to the admin area with a hammer to see if I can get the pix to work…..

Edit - I posted elsewhere with one of the photos and it worked! I came back here and re embedded the photos and now it works!!

Being a pedant (I said pedant, not peasant!) you can make an XI with the conventional windscreen - if you do warbird PL965

BTW - the entry hatch engraving need filling in for an XI (ok for a X though).

Welcome back to modelling mania. You never left, but rather had a ‘pause’

Her cockpit appears to be gutted and the engines are also absent. No doubt, time expired components will be fitted in due course.

The base kit is the Hasegawa Vb from the 70’s. Revell then produced a new set of ‘A’ wings to make a Va (in the 90’s?), which I believe were then also used by Hasegawa.

Referring to my opening statement, the only things that DON’T qualify for this GB are the vehicles that finished their days in museums! And even some of those went on to the scrap metal men in the end.
Playing devil’s advocate here, but this is a messed up Landy in Duxford
Needs more than T-Cut methinks. Also in the collection (didn’t take a photo) was one of those armoured patrol vehicles from Afghanistan. Very much had an axleotomy thanks to an IED

Always fancied doing a Slovak Insurgent Air Force example. May actually get round to it one day.

Some of my prospective projects are 100% done at the moment. Until I hit them with the damage!
Flak is an awful thing isn’t it!

I built a pair of the really old KP S.199’s in the early 80’s that I picked up in Brno. It’s no shake and bake and to be frank if there was no modern kit, the nose would be a cut and shunt onto a modern tooling Gustav.
The stickies were bad then and I guess nothings changed.

I'm sorry guys, yesterday was 'one of those days'. I went to bed really late the night before, had a disturbed night and a pre-dawn getting up because the dog was ill, and that headache turned into a migraine. All these little niggles knocked me off the perch for a while but I'm back today with the usual bonhomie.
We actually have more than enough interested people to run a group build right now, if that was the way we do it here. If a tiny sub-forum was available we could start tomorrow and bother no-one else, but that's my youthful revolutionary nature speaking. Ha, actually at my age I'm scared that I'll die before we even begin!
Britmodeller ain't my forum, and it's a marvellous place so the way it runs is probably best left as it is. It's like our British constitution, a long evolved constellation of understandings and conventions with all the important parts not even written down. If it's good enough for my country, it's good enough for me!

Haha. "World famous in the UAR". I haven't seen that quip before and will now use it to death.
I love the big Russian advertising hoarding!
I know exactly what you mean Ian.
But seriously, I imagine a lot of dead projects could be given the entropy treatment with scant cost in time and treasure. Were you actually asking to be added to the list? I don't want to offend by presuming so.
Isn't that one they found in North Africa somewhere? Looking like a film set?
Too true. I could do either a Ford Anglia or Morris Oxford, both of which were scrapped for crumbling into dust.
You must, Trevor, you absolutely must. May I add your name to the register?
Count me in!
