Airfix 1/48 Jaguar GR.1
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Deanflyer's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Hi - great looking Jaguar! I have the kit myself and some of the Paragon resin parts. As you have used the flaps & slats set yourself - I have one question: The Paragon instructions for this set have an illustration of the outboard wing panels (underside) with the remark " This Area half way through wing only" I must say I just do not get the meaning of this... May be it's because I am no native english speaker.... Is there anything else to be done except simply cutting out the kit plastic to make the resin parts fit? Thank you in advance, Ingo -
1/48 Dynavector Javelin FAW.9
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Karl's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
It looks just great! I built Dynavector's SeaVixen and know how much work is included in a kit like this. As for the Javelin - I still have a lot of kits I can build, before it is 'due'...so hopefully someone will do it in inj. plastic in the meantime, because I remember the "vacform battlefield" on my desk very well... - and this worked for the 1/48 Gannet. Nonetheless I envy you having such a nice Javelin in your collection now... Ingo -
There seem to be only very few figures in 1/48 for post-war RAF/RN pilots & ground crew - I am constantly looking for them but with little success. The ones by A2Zee are fine, but too few. If anyone knows about some manufacturer with corresponding items - any information is welcome. Ingo ps: I do not like most injection moulded figures (like Hasegawa) but prefer Resin.

That is a great engine, not to speak of the propeller! How did you get that wood pattern (correct word?) look so realistic? Ingo

I used the Flightpath set with the Airfix kit and that works well. As someone mentioned here before the only real improvement coming from the Tamiya kit would be the outrigger wheels. They are much better than Airfix'. If you want to take a look at my FRS.1: http://hyperscale.com/2007/features/seaharrierfrs1id_1.htm Ingo

Airfix Canberra PR.9 - 1/72
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Paul A H's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very good looking Canberra! What did you do about the wing roundels 'interfering' with the vortex generators? Ingo -
Hi, I'm new to the site...
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Dave100TR's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Hi - I like all of them very much - nicely built, very good paint job and in particular I like that extensive weathering! ingo -
An ECM-plate....never would have guessed that.. Unfortunately I can't be there at Gatow, but some of the members of our modelling club will. What a pity, this Thwaites sounds interesting Wish you a nice time there. Ingo

Great Vulcan! I will start mine after the Hawk and the Canberra...but it will be camouflaged...I do not dare to try this anti-flash scheme... Do you know what that 'plate' on the underside is - between the right engines? I.

1:48 Revell F/A-18E Super Hornet
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Le Vander's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Nice outcome of your ootb built. I made two of those, ootb as well except for decals. I agree, one of the few issues I found is the multiple-parts-nose construction. By the way - you should have done some vacuum cleaning on that rug....FOD kills ...an engine. -
A very nice 1/24th GR.3 - I know how much work that is, having done the FRS.1 in this scale. One thing: you should have 'opened' the blow-in doors on the intake sides for a parked aircraft or aircraft on the ground (yes, I know it's a hell of a job ) I will not do another one of these... Ingo

Aviation workshop T-45A/C Goshawk Improvement Set
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Julien's topic in Aircraft Modern
Do not forget double front wheels and tailhook... -
May be it's the language but I do not get it - did you make the MDC from wire?
-
Hi, as far as I know there were the Mk. 100 and the 101 in German service - with the Radar pod and without. If you want to take a look: http://hsfeatures.com/features04/seahawkid_1.htm Amongst others there is a good picture showing the fin difference between a Mk. 101 and an FGA.6 Ingo
-
Oh, by the way - how did you do the MDC on that Hawk? I have one under construction and still do not know how to do it...

Will Airfix reissue 48th Harriers any time soon?
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Matt Roberts's topic in Aircraft Cold War
@Bill Clark: Thanks for correcting this. Has anyone used the decals in the conversion set and if, are they any good? It is quite an attractive paint scheme, but if the decals are bad....I might go for a T8 instead of that T.4N Ingo -
Will Airfix reissue 48th Harriers any time soon?
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Matt Roberts's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Is not the T.8 a two-seater with the extended fuselage of the FA.2? So that the Airfix FA.2 would be suitable here..? I have Heritage Aviations conversion kit myself and will make a T.4N out of it....not yet decided what kit I am going to use (Monogram, Tamiya or Airfix GR.3) Ingo -
Now this one would make a great model (resin?) - in 1/72
-
Hi, looks very good - I noticed you created that little 'step' in the very rear of the cockpit behind the rear seat...I did likewise yesterday

Hi, it is not a decal question but I add it to this thread because I am building right now an Italeri Hawk (48) as one of the "FlyNavy"/100 Hawks. My question: Is it possible that these Hawks have their main wheel well door insides and the airbrake inside painted in Black as well? On some pictures it looks as if they are, on others I am not sure....it's always so dark and shadowy underneath the aircraft... I know for sure the front doors are light grey inside. Does anybody know for sure about the main wheel doors? TIA Ingo

Hi Nick, me and two or three colleagues from the modelling club will be at Telford in November (my first time ) and I will bring along a Harrier or two... Looking forward to see all the SIG models there. By the way - I just finished ZH809 in Roundel Blue, amongst other references using your very helpful building notes. Ingo

1/48 MDD F-4J Phantom II Showtime 100
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Sid de Koning's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Excellent built of Showtime 100! Is there anything to say about the installation of the CE Seamless intakes and/or the BB Cockpit? I have them both here for my forthcoming F-4B. Ingo -
Harrier GR7 Hasegawa 1:48
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Arkady72's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you for the welcome I knew it - no easy rule for that - I think the 'frogeye' inlets come with the kit and I already have here the 100% LERX by AlleyCat. So thanks for the reply and I will try to find out about this special aircraft (kit decals). Ingo -
Harrier GR7 Hasegawa 1:48
Ingo Degenhardt replied to Arkady72's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Very nice looking GR.7! Detail by the score. I like it very much and have a question: How did you apply the MDC to the canopy? This is always kind of an issue for me.. And: I will (any time soon) build the Revell boxing of the GR.7/9 and will go for their GR.9 version. Am I correct in thinking that GR.9s are always fitted with 100% LERX? And might there be any other external differences Revell has omitted? TIA Ingo
