  1. y'know I don't think I have seen anything you have built that doesn't make me think Wow - I wanna be good like that.
  2. Gorgeous stuff I'm building a Tamiya Razor back at the mo.....................if I ever get at it
  3. Wonderful find and thanks for sharing with us
  4. Thanks Ted and everyone as there is a lot of sense in this here thread. Don't think I will make Telford but would love to. my mistake ...................I'm going senile or something
  5. Took me some courage to go near the thing with Klear in the AB let alone letting myself lose on it with a brush. There is sense in what you are saying though. I'm just after prepping for decals really and figured the glossier the better or am I going OTT? ................ by the, was thinking of letting this cure for 24 hours before hitting with decals and setting solutions and whatever if thats long enough.
  6. I have just laid on my first coat of Klear prior to slapping on the Decals. Whilst I was in mid spray I noticed a small spot of matt black which will have been a splash from a couple of days ago when I dropped a new bottle of Tamiya Matt black.. Its not big but is on the top leading edge of the port wing. Now I thought "don't panic" carry on and finish this sequence as its nowhere near any decals and cope with it later. I'm thinking that light sanding back and and a touch up just before final weathering and matt coat - yes? By the way this first coat of Klear seems more satin but I have only put a light coat on with the A/B about 5- 6 inches away from the model and presure at about 15PSI I was expecting a better gloss. Am I asking too much of the first coat or am I not putting down enough on each pass. Dunno why this stuff scares the hell out of me - I'm such a wuss
  7. Wow - superb work. You must be pleased
  8. I thinks it great What sort of drying time for the oils are we talking about ?
  9. Yeah I'll have a dabble - may be a few bob saved
  10. I was rummaging around and found an old FW190 kit, some old Gunze paint and what appears to be two unused bottles both red and the blue decal setting solution. Now they have to be 14 year old and have been in the loft so they have got hot and they have got cold over the years but I'm wondering if hey would be any good. I did think about slapping the FW190 together to use as a test bed for painting, washes, decals etc so maybe just trying them out I guess. What I would hate is all to look well for about a month then the kit burst into flames or something,. Well, maybe not flames but you know what I mean. Anyone got any idea on this stuff's shelf although 14 years has to be pushing it. Cheers
  11. Go for it and have some fun. I wish I had a few more kits under my belt as I would like a bash at a WW1 fighter as I have begun to get into them. I'm looking forward to this GB
  12. Man hat is sweet Oh god was it really 30 years or so it started -
