Thanks Craig Im keen to see the Kinetic 104 also. I had a look on one of the Far Eastern kit sellers website a couple of days ago and at over £50 with postage I think I’ll wait for the big H to get some in. Hopefully shouldn’t be long now. Looking forward to a progress report. James -

Nice choice Craig. This is is a great boxing of the Hasegawa Starfighter. Will be watching with interest. James -
Try Gunze self levelling thinner. It’s made for these paints. HTH James

No you need to thin it with their own x-20a or Gunze self levelling thinner. Its not a genuine water based acrylic. HTH James

Very nice work. I love the metal effects around the jet nozzles. I have a Tomcat build lined up in the near future. Would you say this kit is far ahead of the Hasegawa offering? Thanks James

Nice choice of kit and markings Craig. Forgive my ignorance on these things but is this aircraft a Chinese built early Mig 21 or there about? James

They're quite expensive but Flory models sell work stations that have built in racks for tools and a cutting mat. HTH James

Japanese Starfighter for me I think. Especially as I need to get my Hasegawa ones built before the new Kinetic kit appears. This may change however? James -
Tamiya P-51B
franky boy replied to franky boy's topic in D-Day: 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Landings GB
Hi all Well i managed to get cracking at the end of last week and here's where it's at. First up everything had a coat of Gunze H58 Aqueous US interior green or Tamiya rubber black depending on what it was. Details were then picked out with a brush. The seat belts are HGW, very fiddly but worth the effort I think. Especially as i don't like etched ones. We don't get on! I also added one or two Airscale cockpit placard decals. Everything then had a wash 50/50 water/Kleer and black/brown followed by a light grey brush and a matt varnish. The wheel wells also had a coat of Tamiya XF-4 yellow green. I never know weather to go for zinc cromate green or yellow in P-51 gear bays so plumped for yellow this time? The fuselage halves and wings have now all been joined together, no picture though. Thanks for looking. James -
Thanks David Im pleased with it so far, just a bit of light weathering and a few smaller bits and it'll be there. Yes I saw the Kinetic kit announcement a few days ago. What a great surprise! I'll definitely be picking one up when they're available. Hopefully this one will only have rivets where we want them. Only problem is I still have 4 Hasegawa kits in the stash to build. One of which is the Eduard Bundes Fighter boxing which I really do want to build. I'd better get cracking! Thanks James
