  1. Mark for a first armor build I would suggest something easy and not too pricey. Anything that fits the bill from Dragon, Trumpeter or Revell AG in 72nd scale would make a great first tank kit as the level of detail they pack into those things these days is astounding considering the scale. Avoid anything in a Revell AG box that's 1/76 as these are re-pops of ancient kits.

If you're looking at 1/35th scale your best bet is Dragon or Tamiya followed by Trumpeter but be prepared to part with some serious coin for their latest releases.

thanks for that i may wander off to the model shops in the next few days and have a look around

  2. well as this will be my first EVER group build, i will start easy and work my way up, i think a 1/72 jaguar (again) then a 1/48 tornado and im also tempted by a tank of some kind, as ive never made one im unsure where to start so any ideas would be welcome (somthing fairly easy!)

  3. i think ive got most of one, i bought the model allicance sheet and did mine as a 800NAS bird, so if its the one out of the kit ive got 90% of it if not all, ive definatley got the seriels , pm me if your interested (but im at work but will check in the morning)

  4. I don't have the time or energy to respond to all of the incorrect statements on this thread but this one can't stand.

It is absolutely 100% untrue. RAF Waddington did not pay for the Vulcan's attendance; the only outlay would have been providing some accomodation for ground & air crew.

fair enough, but thats not what senior officers at waddington are saying

  5. dont get me wrong, we loved the airshow, my 5 year old loves the planes, the static show was bigger than last year but the flying display was a bit of a let down

anyway here's the only movement, the vulcan did get

  6. just as an aside did you all know that the vulcan team charged a 5 figure sum whether she few or not, call me paranoid but were they expecting this!, although it was i nice sight seeing her moved over my head!, i was a shame she want flying over it!!!!

  7. Mark if you are putting the pilot in it, you could put an engineer sitting on the floor legs outstretched with him sitting up against the back of the nosewheel facing aft below the cockpit and connected via an longlead to the intercom, that is how we used do it when awaiting the go and it was remarkably comfortable. If parked and using a add on cockpit ladder, we would push the top of the ladder down onto the nose tyre which would grip it overnight so it would lie under the nose aft of the wheel securely whilst removing instant access to the pit.

have you got any photos or know of any!, thats the sort of thing im after somthing a bit different

    thanks for the idea

  8. Hi Markmarples, I happen to be sitting on 2 of flightpaths alarms that I didn't use when I built my GR1. Made of white metal and Brass fins, really nice and your welcome to have them. PM me with your details and I'll stick them in the post or if any use I am heading to waddington airshow. I don't have the pylons though.

    Cheers

    PM inbound!

  9. its been asked on ARC by somone else but ill try here

does anyone know of anywhere i can get 2 x 1/72 alarm missiles, i know flightpath do a tornado set with them in but i dont really want to spend £18.60 for 2 missiles

my best idea at present is to buy a revell 1/72 tornado gr1 kit, any other ideas?
