  1. Pretty amazing up to now!!!!!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!
  2. Thank you my friend!!! The rest will come soon after.............
  3. It's a very nice little kit but you have to study the subject very well and be careful with the decals, as some of the are wrong, especially the ones representing the black stripes under the back wings. I think the kit decals represent 7 stripes but the actual plane has only five - or viceversa. If you need more photos just tell!!!!!
  4. Gentlemen thank you for your comments, hopefully tomorrow there will be another update!!!
  5. I know some details are not accurate enough.........but after all, it's an OOB project!!!!!!!!! Well, the main drawback is the belly tank...I should have added some milliput to enlarge it, but now... As for references, I'm rather confused with all those marks...with the exception of the belly tank all the rest of the plane is based on schemes and cutaways, well most of it!!! And surely some things will be corrected - some already have!!! Thank you!!!!
  6. Thank you my friend...another update is coming in a few days!!!!!!
  7. A minor update... Gentlemen, thank you for your time and attention!!!!!!!!!
  8. I would like to thank Judas Priest for providing the necessary urge to move on with this......http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4fqsvciuFU So, this is an OOB project as said before......... .......just two complete engines and about a dozen of open panels....seems right for an OOB build!!!
  9. Hello there again, long time no see........... Well, with the exception of that Beaufighter which is haunting me, this is my current project: Due to lack of time (what else...) this is going to be an OOB project!!! So, let's see what we have here... ...starting from the fuselage!!! ...and moving to the cockpit!!!
  10. Thank you all for your kind words...the next one will be better, I promise!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Thank you all dear friends!!! And the last photo (I forgot to post it earlier) with the virtual divers!!!
  12. And again some more... I hope you like it!!! Please free to drop a line...I'm looking forward to your comments and critique...I'm planning something really bigger in the same setting!!! Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
  13. And now the final stage...the underwater diorama finished and complete...I did nothing more than make a simple glass case covered with dark blue transparency film...so easy!!! Enjoy!!!!!!! As you can see no rust appears at all, I just wanted to represent all those sea organisms that stick to any sunk object...
  14. Dear TonyT & CPNGROATS: I know what you are talking aboout...Let me remind you that this diorama has already been built and what you see here is just about 70% of the whole build...Thank you anyway for your precious help!!! Just take a look at the forthcoming photos!!!
  15. And some more... Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
  16. And now the underwater scenery... The diorama base was made of wood. The sea bottom consists of a mixture of plaster and cement. I then applied thinned white glue and powedered some baking soda in order to represent the sand on the bottom of the sea. Some rocks were added in the corners, while dried mint represents the underwater flora. Some seaweeds were randomly added, made of untwined string. And here comes the evidence... I hope you like it!!!
  17. Thank you all dear friends!!! I had read some years ago that the five Avengers had been found at the bottom of the sea almost intact...there were no missing parts, the canopies were closed from inside, only the crews were missing!!! Of course the american government burried the whole story...if you believe the article!!!
  18. And then came the rust...I used a small sponge and dozens of different shades of brown, orange, red, rust colours in order to achieve this. Finally a pure thinner wash united all the different shades... Next update in a couple of days...Gentlemen thank you for your time and attention!!!
  19. Then, I started to experiment with the colours of corrosion and rust...I heavily thinned some Humbrol white enamel and started to apply it as a "heavy" wash all over the Avenger... Before the white wash had dried, I powdered certain areas with baking soda as you can see in the pictures...
  20. Hello there again! Since the progress concerning the Beaufighter is not as good as I wanted to be for various reasons (mostly for moving into a new house actually...), I'd like to show you my first and only - up to now - attempt to build an underwater diorama...I have always been fascinated by the story of the lost Avengers of Flight 19 in the Bermuda Triangle...and that's how it all started!!! I used the old Airfix 1/72 kit, since I wasn't about to add any extra detail; instead I decided to focus on the painting of the corroded surfaces of the Avenger and the nearby area...The diorama was built last year and was presented on our 1st "Hel.Mo." Model Show at Aigio, Greece. Well, first comes the Airfix Avenger...It was built in half an hour or less, being my quickest build so far!!! After putting the parts together - without the u/c legs of course - it was brush-painted with a random dark blue Then the poor Avenger was decalled...no special treatment was given, no decal solutions were used...
