  7. Superb ! The idea is brilliant and so is the whole diorama. Congratulations.
  8. Great build, love the colour scheme. May I ask what brand decals you used for the rivets? Lothar
  9. MASTERPIECE - nothing else ! The paint job and finish are among the best I have ever seen. Lothar
  10. Looks very good so far. I'll be following this one with great interest hoping to learn something should I ever attempt its big brother sitting on the shelf. Lothar
  11. There's a (escape?) hatch just above the observers cockpit, represented by decals in the Airfix 1/48 kit. Was this a hinged hatch that could be opened - similar to the Sea Vixen? Or had this hatch to be removed completely - let's say for maintenance? I'm planning to build this kit but would like to go a little further than OOB. My web search didn't help me yet. Any help is greatly appreciated. Lothar
  12. Excellent all over! Now I have to get one myself. Lothar
  13. Beautiful job considering the scale. Love that little gem. Were you happy with the Alclad flat varnish? Lothar
  14. Another one relieved from the shelf of doom. It's Eduards 1/48 Mirage III with the excellent AML conversion set and the equally good S.M.S. cockpit set. She was originally planned as a French Mirage III, but put her back to rest when I discovered that my copy had fuselage halves in the shape of a peeled banana and the bottom wing section had an anhedral of at least 15°. I pulled her out of the stash again when I got the AML conversion set in my hands and finally finished her a couple of days ago with the help of spacers, loads of putty, elbow grease and few sips of Highland liquid inspiration. Hope you like: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you. Lothar
  15. Fantastic build, the paintjob and weathering look absolutely perfect to me
  16. Great shots, remarkable that these are not processed. What day did you have that descent weather? The day we were there the weather was real nasty. Have you ever considered Lightroom 3 rather than PSE9/10 ? IMO Lightroom 3 is THE software for processing RAWs. I'm not using PSE10 anymore for aircraft pics in favour of LR3. I think you can download a 30 day test version of it to play around and get your own feel and opinion. BTW, may I ask what camera and lens you've used for these? Lothar
  17. Excellent build and paintjob - exactly in scale. Hard to believe it's 72nd scale. I love it ! Lothar
  18. Fantastic build and finish ! How did you achieve that effect on the panel lines ? Lothar
  19. Excellent build and great choice of markings - hats off ! Lothar
  20. Hats off - a masterpiece. The finish is just outstanding. Lothar
  21. I took these pictures 2 years ago of the camouflaged Lightnings F.6 at Bruntingthorpe. If I remember correctly, the strakes were NMF and the rear part of the pack was painted in what looked to me like barley grey on the green/grey aircraft (second picture) . On the dark sea grey aircraft (first picture) the rear part of the pack was painted in in medium sea grey, the forward part of the pack was definitely a dull NMF with what looked like barley grey gun access doors. At the time the pictures were taken the aircraft were still in the untouched field condition they were in when retired. Lothar
  22. For the darker grey FS36320, for the lighter grey FS36375. HTH Lothar
