  1. What a beauty and what a pitty we have to wait so much longer for more pictures since it is indeed a masterpiece!!! Lothar
  2. Those are also my favourites, thinned with Mr. Levelling Thinner they dry within a very short time span to a rock hard coat that's resistant to all decel softeners I've used. Tamiya's X22 is not bad either, but it only worked for me when I started using Tamiyas own Lacquer Thinner, resp. Mr. Levelling Thinner. However, I'm a bit more confident using Gunze.
  3. Thank you for your comment, very much appreciated. Yes, the gun bays are CMK but they're a pain in the hemmorhoids home to install. Would definitely not use them again. Lothar
  4. Beginning of the year I've spent 2 weeks in ICU and promised myself, that should I get out of this, to start building models again. Until then I've finished 5 32nd models - this one was the first. A true pleasure to build with very little filler nedded and a few extras added (seat belts, IP). paints all Gunze, nationial insignia and markings are home made masks cut from Tamiya tape (except nose markings). Just struggling to build another Hasegawa P-40 only because I really do like their P-40s: I hope you like what you see. Lothar
  5. Beautful and impressive model, everything looks just perfect - well worth the hard work you invested Lothar
  6. Excellent build and choice of markings, hats off! What paints did you use? They do look very good to me. Lothar
  7. Fantastic build, but it does indeed deserve more pictures. Lothar
  8. I'm sure this has been asked (but seriously, I'm too lazy right now to check 10 pages for it) but would US Marines aircraft count? If yes, I have a couple of Marines aircraft on top of my "want to do" list, so if yes I'd like to join. Lothar
  9. What a beauty, exceptional paintwork and finish. Merry Christmas to you as well. Lothar
  10. Stunning build, the combination of choice markings, paintwork and weathering make it look just perfect. Lothar
  11. Excellent build and finish - hats off!! Makes me want to get one. Lothar
  12. Yes, it's the the Revell kit and I can only encourage you to tackle yours. It has a few minor issues here and there, but nothing that couln't be corrected with little effort - the cockpit is exceptional for a kit in that price range. Spend a few extra quid for some seat belts and you're done. I really did enjoy the build. With more AM decal options available now I've already got me a second one. Go for it, you won't regret it. Good luck with your build, I'll gladly follow. Lothar
  13. I've followed this discussion with much interest in the past, but in my opinion it leads nowhere. This my very own interpretation: Just follow your own instinct because who can you prove you wrong? Lothar
  14. Stunning build, top notch paint work - hats off Did you use any AM bits and pieces? Lothar
  15. Excellent build and fantastic paintjob and weathering - she really looks the part!!! Lothar
  16. I've got the kits and I've got the time, so why not!? But too early for a final decision on what type or markings, but there's enough I can choose from. 32nd scale for me. You may count me in. Lothar
  17. Excellent build and finish - I love the fantastic paintwork the way it is - compliment!!!! Lothar
  18. That's a fantastic model, excellent finish and choice of markings - hats off !!! Lothar
  19. His name was Gerhard Barkhorn to get that straight and to me it doesn't matter how much enjoyment you get from a kit like that, it simply doesn't belong in this forum since I see no realation to reality. If you would have known him like I did you would put it where Corsairfoxhound suggested in the first place. I simply don't like funny stuff made at the expense of deceased people, no matter what side they were on. My opinion. Lothar
  20. Great progress and inspiration for my planned twin seater build, I'll be watching closely!!! Lothar
  21. That's a beauty, extremely well done - now the itching in my fingers to tackle one myself starts again!! Lothar
