  1. I've recently bought the S-Model Sexton II 1/35 kit and am getting on quite well with it - apart from the tracks... The kit comes with individual links of Canadian Dry Pin (CDP) track in resin whereas ideally I would like to fit British chevron tracks. I've got about 1 sides worth of Dragon individual (T62?) chevron links from their Firefly kits but not enough to do the whole Sexton. Has anyone got any spare Dragon chevron track they would like to swap from their spares box for a complete set of CDP links? Either that, or a set of rubber band chevron track?

Hehe. Been there, not done that. We used the target tank post as punishment detail.

    Scale chains.

I got mine from this guy: http://shop.ebay.co.uk/the_continental_op/...=&_osacat=0
  4. Looking very nice indeed Den. There's a lot of work gone into that. I know what you mean about the camera picking up too much green. When I shoot mine I hardly ever capture the weathering fully.
  5. That's certainly a better job of them than I managed. How's it going?
  6. I don't know if you saw the piece on the news about this, but the RTR Major showing it off was none other than Dick Taylor, author of 'Warpaint' and a good army buddy of mine.
  7. I've just logged in for the first time in a couple of days to find this thread at the top. Coincidence or what - I'm just making one of these myself. Nice to see what a good job you've made of things. I must say I'm not overall impressed by the quality of SKPs mouldings - many, many bad fit issues even to the extent of using thick card at the end of the engine deck. (But in all honesty, I was getting a bit fed up with Tamiya simplicity. ) And those tracks!... I too will be sending for AA's resin set when I get back from holiday. I'm painting mine in SCC#15 (4 parts OD, 3 parts OG) with 15/19th, 11 Armd Div markings to add to my WW2 'Taurus Pursuant' collection. Happily SKP provided the exact transfers I need. I would take a couple of pics, but the paint's drying right now. Laters...
  8. Spence, I see you're reading this thread right now so can I just say... WOW! Brilliant work (and I hate you )
  9. Nice job Tony. I did the VM Bishop not long ago which I guess is the same (Russian molded) base kit. Damn those tracks were fiddly. Good job the sand shields let you get away with not doing the top run, eh?
  10. Thanks Den. That's because I've got nothing better to do all day now I'm retired.
  11. I think the Vc's were wet stowage and therefore wouldn't need the applique armour fitted.
  12. Sweet. I've got one of these on the way as a birthday present. I might do it as per the one at Bovington. If only they'd stop changing the colour and markings. http://www.tankmuseum.org/ixbin/indexplus?...XMENU_=Vehicles At least I can get there easily for reference pics.
  13. Have you tried searching the Tank Museum site? http://www.tankmuseum.org/veh_plan_search
  14. Ditto here. Lin now realises just how lucky she is to have me.
  15. Just finished weathering mine. That was a fun build.
  16. I don't know if anyone else has tried this, but I've started printing my own water-slide decals with surprisingly good results. (I can't tell which of my collection were original transfers and which were home made.) I got a sheet of A4 inkjet/white paper from Saras-Texture-Craft on Ebay - only £1.55 All you need is a PC graphics program, a nice stencil font and a good printer and Bob's your uncle.
  17. This Bronco kit comes with decals for one from the 12th Manitoba Dragoons, 11 Canadian Corps (among others).
  18. Nice to see what I'm aiming at Mike. What did you think of the PE straps on the shovel and tripod?
  19. Hi, I'm a newbie here having got back into armour modelling about 6 months ago after a gap of some 20+ years. I've just bought this kit and am looking forward to getting 'stuck in' in the next day or two. I'll be making it as a car with 2 HCav Regt while they were with 11 Armd Div (with the Raging Bull formation sign instead of 8 Corps HQ). Then I can add it to my growing collection of 11 Armd Div vehicles from '44 / '45. It certainly looks a daunting task though - by far one of the trickiest I've attempted so far. When I get round to taking a few pics of my 11 Div display I'll post them up for 'critique'.
