  1. They were actually counterweights Dave.
  2. I posted an answer for you over here Andrew: http://www.militarymodelling.com/forums/po...gs.asp?th=43996
  3. Not a problem guys. I didn't hold out much hope in the first place - I'll know better for next time. The kit was bought locally from Plastic Pastimes so I don't even have proof that I bought it within the GB timescale. (Who keeps receipts, eh?) Good luck to all the entrants.
  4. I recently (about 3 weeks ago) finished my Emhar 1/35th MkIV Female based on this photo: As I'm retired I tend to spend a good few hours of the day on my hobby/passion so this one was finished in about 2 weeks, including waiting time for the fuel cans and chain. Having never done anything for a GB I'm very unclear on the rules, etiquette etc so is it OK if I enter this kit?
  5. My first ever entry into a GB so please be gentle. Emhar MkIV Female in 1/35th with a few tweaks such as unditching beam, fuel cans etc. Being ex-3rd Royal Tank Regt I tend to model with RTR associated themes and when I spotted this pic I just had to add it to my collection:
  6. "A bit of T-Cut and it'll be good as new." Nice work Spence.

Oooh - that'd save me spending an arm and leg on the Accurate Armour one.
  8. I was thinking the same but was too polite to ask.
  9. Hi Darren, It looks like the Bison sheet is no longer in production I'm afraid so it's the DIY route by the looks of it unless you can find someone with them still in stock. You can use an inkjet printer and any graphics program, just make sure you get white decal paper for inkjets - I get these sheets: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Inkjet-water-slide-d...=item19b4ec7e03 (You'll need white, not clear.) Layout your decals in strips across the sheet starting at the top and just cut off that strip then you'll be able to reuse the sheet next time. Once you've printed them and let the ink dry, give them a few coats of clear and let that dry thoroughly before cutting them out, making sure you trim right to the edge to avoid a white border. Have fun, it's quite rewarding really.
  10. If you're OK with printing your own decals or have a decent stash of spares: AoS would be 152 (or 52?) on a red square, Brigade sign would be green over black diablo. (Disclaimer: Info taken from Armoured Acorn, which has been known to be wrong occasionally.) I think that 33 Bde might have used large tank number callsigns too so you'd need to find out which number it was. Actually, scrap all that and look for Bison decals BD35011 which has the markings for: Sherman Vc 'VELIKYE LUKI' of Northamptonshire Yeomanry, France August 1944 (the tank credited with knocking out Tiger "ace" Michael Wittmann) From an old review of these it looks like a white A Sqn triangle on the turret rear with the number 3 in white to its left. http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/revi...son/bd35011.htm
  11. There's a moral here folks - If you're going to trust Gordon Brown with your money, make sure you order with a credit card so that you can claim it back if he doesn't deliver! Shame we couldn't have done so with the other Gordon Brown.
  12. Saw the Tilly on loads of stands at the Poole Vikings show today - apparently they all got it yesterday. Their prices varied from £19.99 to £21.99. Mine turned up from Lucky Model this morning for much less than that.
  13. Thanks. Glad it's not just my old eyes. Ah well, out with the drill then...
  14. Nick, Did you find a problem with the post-war idler wheels? I've just looked at the ones in my kit and they've got a huuge hub on the outside of each half, totally different to the WW2 ones. I can't find any mention of this problem in any of the reviews so I can only assume that either I've got an early kit which has since been fixed by Bronco or I've got some serious cutting to do.
  15. Nick, you're gonna hate me for this, but in 1950 the RTR badge would have had the Kings crown as the Queen wasn't yet on the throne. If the recipient is indeed an ex-Tankie he'll sure as hell notice that. See here: http://www.royaltankregiment.com/en-GB/capbadgemotto.aspx Sorry.
