    ww2 decals

Hi, As a complete newbie to doing anything other than oob builds, which means using whatever codes are supplied, I wondered if there was such a thing as a generic sheet of decals? I think generic is what I mean; ie a 1/72 sheet for heavy bombers of the complete alphabet in say two different sizes for squadron codes and very small alphabet and numbers 1-0 for registration codes?
  3. Sorry for the "satellite delay" in answering. We are house and pet sitting, for friends and I am only popping back now and again to check that all is well at home. Scott, Hi! Yes i've got that book it's got loads of info. I'm just starting the Revell Wellington MkX. Not decided on a designation yet. Graham Hi! I've got that on order at the library. I heard about it last year, someone said "have you read ---------" but have only just remembered it. Cheers Guys.
  4. Thanks. I just bought the "Britains Military Airfields" from there. Bargain!! 75p.will look for this one now, of course I believe you about "no connections".
  5. Thanks for the heads up on that I will try and source a copy.
  6. Thanks Steve, At the moment I have a ghost of an idea, stolen from ATF!! member "Linc Lanc", of a large diorama but of one of the East Yorkshire stations.Where I am living now is more or less surrounded by these, the closest ones are, or were; Pocklington ,Holme on Spalding Moor, Burn, Breighton,Driffield,Melbourne,Full Sutton and so on. If Lincolnshire was the "bomber county" then the East Riding was the"second bomber county". As I said it is just the germ of an idea at the moment and this post was the first step in research. On that note any and all help gratefully accepted.
  7. Hi, I wondered if anyone can help me please? I am looking for the width of concrete or tarmac runways on WW2 airfields also the width of perimeter tracks and was there any variation between bomber station and fighter station? Cheers, Ron.
  8. I can't help as to whether plasticote is any good or not. I would be very interested if anyone has used it though as my local small hardware shop has plasticote enamels in jars at a reasonable price and if they are any good it would save me a 20mile trip to my nearest model shop for a tin of enamel!! Ron
  9. Great. thanks everyone. Planes are ww2 era.Specifically mynext will be a Mosquito NF. cheers, Ron.
  10. Help please. I am quite new to modelling in plastic and have been reading the forum for some time. I have noticed that the interiors and especially cockpit areas are painted green. Could you tell me please what the particular green is? ie: Olive, Dark green etc. or is it a mix? Cheers, Ron.
