  1. Thanks Roger, some of the decals were brittle and have taken quite of softener but with some persuasion they hopefully will look okay. Thanks fella. Chris
  2. Thanks Eamonn, they are coming together well, I will have to start building the engine for the Flycatcher . Get the Undercarriage legs on the Firefly and get a panel line wash on . Chris
  3. 😄 yes I will!!! Err no I won't, I am not brave enough!!! No only jesting. I have just bought her a new old car so have earned mega brownie points which I could cash in , although I have recently bought a Lukgraph 32 DH89 so might have to wait a while before a large box arrives. I too have the immediate stash in the mancave, and intermediate stash in the bedroom and the deep deep stash in the loftspace, I might drop some hints re the investment angle though. I am lucky really she does allow me to indulge my hobbies. Thanks Martian Chris
  4. What a cracking thread Adam, I am unlikely to be able to fit one in the Mancave unfortunately. What a cracking looking model, congratulations to Airfix and you are the Vulcan Meister so this should be good. Chris
  5. Thanks Roger will have to check them out.
  6. Oh yes, looks wicked with the decals on and the SD scheme looks fantastic Tony. I am still stunned by the speed of your assembly of this slightly troublesome or challenging kit. Great work Chris
  7. Excellent to see this again, looking great with the decals, shame about the canopy decals not going all the way round. It does look good and can't wait to see the wings on . Great work Chris
  8. Hi Roger It's great to see this started and some fab progress. The wheels look good and did mot know about Flory pigments will have to look them up. Yes the door is absolutely stunning with the level of detail I have these for all my Spitfire models too. Great work fella. Chris
  9. Thanks Keith, I have got some cracks in the Stb N and ghe centre of the stb fuselage roundel, but they are on and have had lots of softener to make them conform etc . Fingers crossed, will see how they are in the morning. Chris
  10. Hi Paul Looks good, that sheen difference is odd, shame about the Dihedral too. I thank you for the heads up re the struts, I have a half built one of these sitting in the jig so will look at the struts and the Dihedral too. Thanks again Great work Chris
  11. Looks absolutely wicked up on it's wheels Andy, sounds like you had a fight though. Great job fella Chris

  14. Hi all Further progress, rigging nearly complete on the Flycatcher using the Prym Knitting elastic Decals added to the Firefly, there were some cracks in the decals and a couple did break up but all sorted in the end. Thanks for looking in Chris
  15. Hi Keith The 0.5 mm one is the one, it is great stuff fella. Sorry I should have said before. Thanks Adrian yes just plane old Humbrol 56 brushed on the fabric. The decals are Model Alliance, Wings and Waves part 1, a lovely set and has decals for 6 different types of Aircraft, Swordfish, Sea Gladiator, Walrus, Flycatcher, Nimrod and Skua. I have the Lifelike ones from the kit if you want them but I imagine they may be the same as your Pyro ones. Thanks guys Chris
  16. Those wings look wonderful Richie, you've done a cracking job there, I zoomed in so could see the rivets, great work. Chris
  17. I briefly for a moment thought about buying a nice Golf GTI we came across last weekend, but I thought better of it as we were out shopping for SWMBO'S new old car and she would be less than impressed, until she drove it then I would never get it back 😄
  18. Thanks Cookie very kind. Thanks Keith, I have just checked and there are quite a few ranging from £3 -4.99. Type Prym Knitting in elastic and you should get loads back. One real will last you a lifetime and Andy J didn't ask me to say that, its really will!!! Thanks guys Chris
  19. That is interesting re the wheels they look like a wheel called South African Sprintstars in VW circles for the pre 1967 VWs with the wide 5 stud pattern, but with ribs along the spokes for added pleasure!!! Great job on those Andy Chris
  20. It can't be a BMW, it's got indicators !!!
  21. Hi all More progress on the Flycatcher. Rigging started and Upper wing on. Pleased with that. It's quite heavy too and I've yet to build the engine. Thanks for looking in Chris
