  1. Looks great, especially being your first kit in a long time. Looking forward to seeing how you progress with the brush painting, as a fellow brush painter too. Great work hope you enjoy your next kit. Chris
  2. What a cracker, you've done a fantastic job building this old kit, absolutely superb. Chris
  3. Looking great Chris Looking forward to seeing the cockpit go together. Cracking work. Chris
  4. Thanks Alistair, nearly there now with the Mojo and the Seafire, just some last weathering now. Looking forward to starting the Sea Gladiator and Firebox. Chris
  5. Yes was a great little car and much to my mate's annoyance would keep up with his 1300 Escort Mk.1. Wish I still had it, worth some money now🙄 although I crashed it when I was 18 and got a Lancia Delta, boy that was a quick little car!!!
  6. November 1987 in the instructor's Beige Vauxhall Shuvvit saloon I think it was a W reg. Then got home and tried to convince my parents that I had failed, but they saw straight through that and jumped in my car that I bought when I was 16 as it was a cheap old Skoda S110R that cost £90 and I had saved up my paperpund money and tips and used a full tank of fuel that day. Chris
  7. Wow John this looks fantastic, what a great job you've done , love the effects on the prop and paintwork looks superb. Thanks for the mention, I have found a new light powder for the lighter shade now called grey forest trail from Modellers Pigments, its a slightly better shade, I found it at a model railway show, I also have a dark steel shade to try out too. Great work, looking forward to seeing it built in the pose you have planned. Chris
  8. Thanks Chris, getting there now . Really looking forward to the Firebox , the wolf pack wingfold does look very nice, it's all cut from it's pouring stubbs and ready to go. Chris
  9. Thanks Gogser1, very kind, chuffed with both, the Airfix Beaufighter is a wonderful kit and can recommend to all. Thanks Chris, pleased with it, great to have another Twin engined aircraft in the FAA Display. Thanks guys Chris
  10. Thanks Rob , I am feeling the mojo levels are getting back to normal and looking forward to the next builds. The Seafire has been a bit of a pain with the wash and I have done what I can with it and once the Matt Varnish is dry I will add some chipping and staining then can call this one done. Grubby fingers, like it. Chris
  11. It certainly is a great addition Rob and worthwhile, great job on the Twin Otter ones too. I did the same with my Sea Venom and was really chuffed with the results. The Twotter was a great fun build too. Chris
  12. Nice going Rob, like it. Those wipers look awesome and really do lift it to another level. Great work on converting this one. Chris
  13. Thanks for posting Mark @2996 Victor, Definitely going on the to build list now😃 Chris
  14. Thanks CC, very kind, very pleased how it turned out, painting over the codes was the only way as couldn't find any suitable at the time, it's all good fun though. Thanks David, glad you like it, pleased to have it in the FAA display. Thanks guys Chris
  15. Awesome stuff CC, looking forward to seeing the AEW model particularly. Yummy. Great work. Chris
  16. Ooooooo great to see the return of the Avengers CC. Looking forward to seeing these on the go again. Crikey, the Seafire, just fell in to your hands 😉 Did SWMBO rumble you though??? Chris
  17. Thanks Mark really looking forward to these ones, the Firefly will be wings Folded too. Might do another Martlet as well. Chris
  18. Thanks Roger, crikey yes it is, I am nearly there now, will get them both done in the next few days and I can get some fresh plastic on the bench. Now I have a prop or two kindly sent by Pete, I can commence my Sea Gladiator build with extras and might add a Firefly to the mix too. Chris
  19. Thanks Pete and thanks for the Props too, looking forward to a bit of whittling now. I have had some fun with the Seafire, but am pleased to say it is very nearly finished. Very chuffed with the Beaufighter , always wanted to do an FAA Mk.II after seing one built by TonyOT some years ago. Loads more FAA builds to come. Thanks Chris
  20. Crikey, that is a hecknof a reaction. I use Humbrol enamels and have never got on with decal fix and have used water and Microsol. The other method I was introduced to by @stevehnz is the diluted Klear or future, that is great especially on a large flat area and they go on fantastically with no silvering too. I have diluted mine around 40%using water. You soak the decal and just before placing paintvthe area in the diluted Klear and then apply the decal and press down as normal, they dry very quickly and have been able to get a whole model in one sitting , when there are not too many decals. Chris
  21. Hi Andrew Wow, great work on yhe booms. Glad the decals are of use, it is great to hear your choice is a machine you saw as a youngster. I can't help with the insides of the flaps/airbrake areas. I built mine flaps up. The areas behind are indented/recessed as a curved shape, presumably to allow the exhaust to escape from the rockets. This is mine from quite a few years ago now so may be incorrect? This was using the Alleycat front fuselage section. Chris
  22. It would end up wonky 😄 Now that looks rather splendid Alistair, great work. Chris
