  1. Nice job on the cockpit Alistair, looking good, I am with John the seat does look like it's been fitted upside down. Chris
  2. Looks great Mark, like the wing effects , looking forward to seeing what they are like when painted. Nice haul from your travels too,the Mitchell is a great kit, you will enjoy that although there is a lot inside, cockpit and nose areas😉 Great work Chris
  3. Ha ha thanks Keith, I am really chuffed with this engine, I will get some fuel and see how it sounds😉 Thanks Alistair, really kind. Hopefully will get this part of the build done tonight. Thanks guys Chris
  4. Great progress despite the fit issues, great that you have more than enough nose weight too. Cracking job Alistair Chris
  5. Ooooooo very nice progress Alistair, looking good fella. Cracking work. Chris
  6. Thanks Rob, that's very kind, I have been looking forward to building this for a long time and really enjoying this one. It is nearly ready to be fixed into the cowling. Thanks Adrian, really pleased with the engine. The Fastback is Colour L539 Baltic blue, it is the original colour. The car is very original and any mods made by me are totally reversible. No cuts or holes made to the bodywork or brightwork. The guy who used to run with the spare motor, his name wasn't Steve was it? This guy has a cracking late model Fastback and has a spare engine in the form of a tuned ex Police car motor he swaps them around to keep mileage low. Thanks Roger, very kind fella, I think your right, they will show as a bracket then when I mount the air intake cones. Thanks guys Chris
  7. Thanks Alistair pleased with the effects so far. Thanks Keith just added some more bits and really chuffed with this now. Front cowling supports added from brass rod Painted, apart from the air intake mounts as need to see whther they are also black? Thanks for looking in Chris
  8. Hi all Some more progress on the engine An oil wash has been applied, with some staining effects to the cylinder fins. Rockers and springs drybrushed Collector ring inside painted and given an oil wash. Still some more to do, the cowl support and the oil cooler intakes to add. Quite pleased eith that. Thanks for looking in Chris
  9. Thanks Roger, pleased with the engine, weathering has begun, wanted to get the engine done first, for a more relaxing build. Really pleased to have the car done and back on the road, it was a lot of work with some late nights, well worth it. Thanks Mark, the AIMS engine is absolutely gorgeous, I have another for the Mk.1 too, just trying to do it justice. I have started the weathering with an oil wash on ghe engine and gorgeous cowling too. Very pleased to get the car done again , really enjoying driving it again. We'll apart from the potholes, must look like I am drunk swerving all over ghe place trying to avoid them. Thanks guys Chris
  10. Nice work CC, great to see the Avengers coming on . Nice purchase too, hope you didn't get into to much trouble with SWMBO. That poor Dianne, such a shame to see it all abandoned and forlorn. I have just started an Avenger Mk.1, well I have cur all the bits off the sprues. Great work Chris
  11. Ooooooo now that is lovely, great work on this little beauty. Chris
  12. Just seen on RFI, what a beauty Neil, fantastic work. Chris
  13. It's Alive !!! It certainly is coming to life Tony, wow what an update. Those parts look phenomenal, the thinness of the I beams for example, a real joy to see the parts being printed. Great work Chris
  14. Thanks Pete, very kind, 😃I bet you did get one of those looks,I like it. Really chuffed to have it back on the road again, took it out again this afternoon for another run, many smiles per gallon. Thanks Keith, very kind too. Pleased with the model, but really chuffed to be mobile again in the Fastie. I would love to Keith but..... no I can't 😉, I ache now after doing this work, getting old !!! Hope you get it done soon though and get out and enjoy it. I like it Pete, actually I wonder if it is possible Hhhhmmmmmm.🤔 Thanks Alistair, chuffed with it so far. Should look great when weathered. Chris
  15. Neil, that is flippin fantastic, what a gorgeous model, you've done a cracking job. Chris
  16. Ooooooo they look lovely, I have the same boxing and the American scheme is really tempting me. Great to see one done in that scheme. Great work on both. Chris
  17. Thanks Roger, very kind and thanks for your support and encouragement too, always appreciated. Glad I did too it turned out quite well in the end. Thanks Kelly, very kind, it certainly is a striking scheme. Thanks Alain, very kind, it does look very pleasing in the display. Thanks George, very kind too, I am a masochist 😉 I think it took 5 or 6 coats of yellow in the end , and the Sam's with areas that needed touching in 🙄, still pleased with it though. Thanks guys Chris
  18. Yes it was a Sunbeam, you sre correct Keith, crikey what was I thinking, I can only plead insanity m'lud🙄😉 Chris
  19. Hi all I have been working on the Sea Gladiator and rather than starting on the cockpit I thought I would start on the engine. I am using the lovely AIMS resin engine and cowling. Here are some of the parts Removing the resin flash between the cylinder head and ignition lead, dome dodgy break and so replaced those with lead wire This is one of the Props generously donated by @Pete in Lincs, thanks Pete. It is from a 32nd P38 and I am trying to alter it to represent the DH prop used from the Blenheim as the Matla Sea Gladiators all used in the end. First blade thinned and re shaped Second blade underway Painted crankcase and cylinders being assembled And painted There is still a lot to do such as weathering and adding the support frame work for the cowling etc, the cowling is beautiful too and the detail on the collector ring inside is phenomenal. Things have been a bit hectic of late , as you know from a previous photo on this thread I have been redoing my classic VW, as wanted to do some prevention work to keep the car in good condition so stripped of the doors and interior and stripped the floor pans, sill (heater channels) and door shuts, adding a new old stovk carpet set slthough it is for a late model and mine is an early car so different seat mounts. The good news is I reassembled the car with plush carpets on Saturday and took it out for a rest drive which went perfectly. Then took yo its first retros Run to Headcorn Aerodrome yesterday, which was truly awesome, especially with the Spitfire coming in and out , such a fantastic noise. New carpets, ignore the speakers on the parcel shelf, I am yet to build their housings. An action shot my Son's girlfriend took this when they followed me in his Classic VW Polo to Headcorn yesterday Sorry for the thread drift, I am just so happy to have her back on the road after the winter work. Thanks for looking in and thanks for indulging me. Chris
  20. Awesome progress Roger great update and great work. They both look fantastic. The wing tip lights look good and the glue not holding is annoying, was it CA being used, if so check the date on the bottle as it might be out of date, I had a similar issue so hot a new bottle and the difference was night and day. Great work on the Desert Duo fella Chris
  21. Thanks Stuart and for following along. Very pleased with the result and it looks good standing with a RCAF Ventura TT, albeit a different scale. It's great to have another stripey TT in the collection. Thanks Robin, that is a great way of putting it. Although the scheme is very attractive and I am very partial to a very large Fin flash and TT machines , so win win, had to be built😉 Thanks gaputz very kind , really chuffed with it. Thanks guys Chris
  22. It was awesome to get a Dino visit, it sounded fab driving too. This is also the first time I have seen the T-Bucket attend it was truly a work of art. If you're wanting to model one Neddy, I can send you some more pics😉 Chris
  23. Great start and quick progress Alistair, cockpit is looking great. Cracking work. Chris
  24. Thanks Opus999, very kind. I do now, but I had a bit of mojo loss towards the end, glad I persevered though. Thanks Chris
