Unfortunately Greek Gladiator pictures are few and not that good...
Issue 37 of the French "AirMagazine" has some profiles but are not based on actual pictures.
The same stands for the profile above with the four colour scheme... The fuselage roundel was never omitted and the rudder stripes would not be painted on a plane that didn't carry them in the first place - they were actually painted over on the planes that carried them to avoid confusion with the Italian cross. Additionally the codes on the fuselage where probably never painted.
The two planes donated to the RHAF in 1937 carried the Greek codes Delta Sigma 1 & Delta Sigma 2 with the names of the donator (Sarpakis) and the island he came from (Santorini). They were finished in silver dope and probably were camouflaged when the hostilities started. Later in 1941 some planes from RAF 33, 80 and 112 Sq were transfered to the RHAF. The codes Delta ### where given to the planes on papers but most likely never actually painted on. The planes were mentioned on the flight records by their RAF serials. However, there is a picture of an abandoned plane in Crete surrounded by Germans (souvenir hunters?) that seems to be missing a part of the fuselage where perhaps the plane's code might have been.
I guess that the safer way to paint a Greek Gladiator is to find what an ex-RAF plane looked like before it was transfered to the RHAF...
Mr Solanakis profiles are well researched and I'd trust them to be accurate.
