  1. I did see some Zvezda kits in my local shop this weeked and was tempted - but I've never had one of there's before; are they a good quality? I can see you have made a very smart job of yours!
  2. I think I am worried about the weathering building up too strongly and ending up with something that looks like it has been dragged upside down across a muddy field, rather than has been out in the weather for a while. I have found it a bit easier since moving to airbrush, especially with panel lines as I can get paint on thinner with the airbrush - spray can seems to put down a lot of paint. Yes, I want the subtle effect, there are a lot of great models to be inspired by here and I relly appreciate the kind comments I have received.
  3. That is very nice work, love the colour scheme - it is one I want to try myself. I've built the same kit and had the same issues you described with the canopy, it is a long way out.
  4. This is the last model I made before moving to an Airbrush. Probably looks a bit too clean, but I do quite like a nice clean model (and I'm not very good at weathering). Having had mixed feelings with some airfix kits, I was pleasently surprised with how nice this was to build. Painted with Tamiya spray.
  5. Might be better than I can amage with masking! Lovely model.
  6. My first bare metal attempt. Really enjoyed building this kit, very impressed with the quality from Eduard.
  7. Might be a few more than there should be - not sure the sparrows should be there, but it would have left holes I didn't like. Mostly enjoyed the build, but the canopy isn't the correct shape and needed a lot of filing to get it to fit without huge gaps - it's still not quite right. The camera bay was awkward too as the forward fuselage seems to want to pinch in, I might have been better off using suber glue. Thanks for the kind comments, so many great models on here; plenty to aspire to.
  8. I think I have that model waiting to build - very tempted by your choice of colour scheme, that is a lovely build.
  9. My first post on BritModeller, mostly nice to build except for the canopy and photo bay. Painted in MIG paint.
  10. I think you'd better go Harrier shopping! She's earned it!
  11. Thats a lovely model, I'm glad you took some more photo's as the first ones didn't quite show how good a job you've done.
  12. Thats quite demoralising, I don't think I can get anywhere near how good that F-4 is. Very good work.
  13. Empty weight: 12,500 lb (5,700 kg) Max takeoff weight: 31,000 lb (14,061 kg) STO So 18,000lb of bombs and a little spare for fuel if the wings don't snap off. Almost forgot to say, very nice builds! (Wikipedia data, probably not far wrong)
  14. Thanks for the link, I think I could do with some of that to help hold some decals in place.
