Now in stock at Hannants

Strange that they can travel the globe but still bypass good old Blighty! Brett Green's Gaspatch Komet unboxing video has a brief cameo of his mostly built Whirlwind. Both look good - the Komet and the Whirlwind, that is! Still waiting patiently...

So I got a refund from eBay and ordered from https://i-modelist.com/ just over 2 weeks ago. They arrived today, complete with Quinta 3D decal upgrade. Despite seeming to be too cheap to be true, they're clearly a worthwhile shop to do business with. Pleased, to put it mildly!

1/32 - Sukhoi Su-2 (M-82) resin kit by LemKits - released
B_Bogus replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Add me to the Su-2 camp. Even though the cowling looks nothing like the Zvezda version, it seems that both are correct. Rooting through the images it's apparent that they went through a few iterations throughout their service life... https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/ussr/vvs/su-2/su-2-8/ https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/ussr/vvs/su-2/sukhoi-su-2-16/ Edit - prop rotation is still problematic, but as already said - if it's an M-82 powered version that would be a likely explanation -
It looks like he has sent orders out but they're lost in the system - the effect is the same though. Pursuing refund through eBay. I ordered from these folks: https://i-modelist.com/ I've received legit tracking details, so there's definitely *something* on its way! The kits were cheap as chips and include Quinta 3-D details

Released! Instructions here: https://www.specialhobby.eu/out/ftp/media/SH32047.pdf Now waiting more patiently than ever

My worst fears confirmed - I'd told my wife that the one(s) I already ordered are absolutely the last models I'm buying until next winter, no exceptions, no sir-ee....

I've no reason to believe the ebay vendors aren't genuine, there does appear to be a big issue with post out of Russia - the store I posted the link to states delivery time of 14 to 60 days. I previously bought paint direct from AKAN (pre-covid) and it arrived in a few days. It's just strange that no-one outside Russia has stock, but I guess we know why!

I *do* know what you mean It does seem that it's the going rate in Russia - their other prices are pretty par for the course, and no-one outside Russia seems to be selling them

Same situation here - ordered Jan, requesting refund... Unfortunately, that's the vendor who couldn't deliver... Maybe better luck with these guys? https://i-modelist.com/

So how is everyone getting on with receiving their kits from Russia via eBay? Guess why I'm asking...

Carriers and sway braces present and correct too The detailing on the undercarriage looks good. They've clearly worked hard on this one, so I'm hopeful that they'll want to maximise on their investment with future issues. If they replicate the work they did on accessory sets for their Siebel 204... As previously said, they went to town on all possible variants in 1/72, so the future could be interesting!

yep - just after I pre-ordered it from somewhere else because Hannants hadn't applied their usual pre-order discount

Looking good! Some folks have complained about the Tamiya etch rigging not staying flat, but I found that if one end is left to float in the slot, i.e., not glued in, then it all stays neat.

1/35 - Messerschmitt Bf.109G-6 "Gustav" by Border Model - released
B_Bogus replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Didn't the 109 seat hold the parachute, so the pilot sat on it? Otherwise I would never have got my lanky frame into the EADS G-6- 44 replies

I'd say the price is in the right ball-park. It looks like a 'basic' (no resin, hopefully some photo-etch) package? I'll have to limit my order to only two... Is it OK to start speculating as to what 'profi-pack' extras will be along in the future? open engine bay, cannon bay? It just begs for one, IMHO. The Hannants blurb says 'fighter' only, so presumably we'll also have to wait for bombs & racks.
-
I'd like to pull up a seat and watch along, if I may? I had the honour of walking around one of the originals when it was in the hangar at Westlands on its ferry flight from Italy to Canada... lordy - over 15 years ago! I seem to remember that the procurement of the Cormorant was 'a bit political' so they didn't arrive to a great deal of publicity at the time, which was a shame. The Belcher Bits upgrade is based on solid research; mostly provided by a former colleague and drinking buddy, who spent quite some time out at Comox, tending the fleet. Off to a great start, and looking forwards to seeing this one progress

At least there aren't too many to deal with, if they do turn out to be an issue...

The time saved was worth it for me, but correction of the spinner/nose profile is what the set is really about, and once you compare the two it becomes apparent that it's not just a subtle difference either.
-
Great progress so far. I got to the stage of joining the cowling halves and ordered a Barracudacast nose!

My mobile phone camera isn't the best, but hope these may be of use. I'll not make any comparisons with 'other brands' as it's an Eduard thread, but until someone with more talent and a better camera comes along... Scalpel blade added to (hopefully) provide some context to the photos

1/48 - FMA IA 58 Pucara by Kinetic - CAD drawing
B_Bogus replied to madcat911's topic in The Rumourmonger
Good info! From what I can see the only option would be to extend the Eduard/Hasegawa LAU-3s... The market appears to have a gap currently! Would it be correct to say the standard fit was 2 per pylon?
