  1. Following this with interest - from my unbiased point of view, stick with 486(NZ) Sqn... Richard in NZ
  2. Watching with interest - I was born on 29 October 1956, the day the whole thing kicked off. Richard in NZ
  3. That is bad luck! So it is true - sunlight is fatal to Vampires.... (sorry). I trust your son is OK. Richard in NZ
  4. Lovely work Mark, stick with it. Richard in NZ (well, just down the road really...)
  5. Yes, many mistakes are made when half cut... Richard in NZ
  6. There is a Kits at War (silly name) 1/48 decal sheet with 615 Sqn blue zigzag markings suitable for Winston, as well as the 92 Sqn aircraft with red and yellow chequered tail. Richard in NZ
  7. Great news, Colin! From the "pushing my luck" department, any chance of 1/72? Richard in NZ
  8. Lovely work, great to see one built. Richard in NZ
  9. Thanks T7 for your informed input, very interesting. There must have been some forethought with e.g. the Canberra B(I)8, as the forward upper fuselage decking is separate, presumably to facilitate production of the B2 etc in due course? Wishful thinking on my part perhaps. Richard in NZ
  10. Given that Airfix have already done the work in 1/48, and have issued other marks in 1/72, would it really be that difficult to produce new 1/72 Canberra B2, Lightning F1/2/3, and Meteor F8? (I mean a new Meteor F8, not the MPM clone.) Richard in NZ
  11. Beautiful Hunter, well done! Richard in NZ
  12. Beautifully done Steve, spectacular scheme on one of my favourites. Richard in NZ
  13. On the Freightdog decal sheet RD805 is in the medium sea grey/black scheme. Richard in NZ
  14. Very helpful Tony, many thanks. Richard in NZ
  15. Thanks Ross, I imagine it would be a bit drafty if they were uncovered. Looks like I could go with a white cover and no-one could prove me wrong... Richard in NZ
  16. What a stunning model from an old kit, well done! Richard in NZ
  17. Thanks Bill, looks like they just left them uncovered. I suppose the turrets were not used for training, the bomb aimer's blister providing a more comfortable forward view. Richard in NZ
  18. I recently picked up the Hasegawa Lancaster "post-war" boxing at a very reasonable price and intend to build it as the MR3, RF325. My question is simply, on this (and other unarmed Lancasters) were any steps taken to seal the gun apertures in the turrets, or were they just left open? Many thanks for your help. Richard in NZ
  19. The Xtradecals for civil Tiger Moths include G-ANOD in a very smart black and red scheme. Interestingly (to me, anyway) it has a large red 601 Squadron "winged sword" emblem on the fin. Does anyone know the connection to 601? TIA. Richard in NZ
  20. Beautiful work. Another old kit I never got around to... Richard in NZ
  21. Antoine, I think that the lack of French aircraft is because the popular ones - SPAD VII and XIII, Nieuport 17 and 28 - have already been done by other manufacturers (refer my earlier post above). The WNW Salmson is beautiful, n'est-ce pas? Richard in NZ
  22. When they started out (IIRC) WNW said they would not kit types that were already reasonably represented in 1/32. Now that they are doing a Camel (as already done by Hobbycraft/Academy) perhaps that constraint no longer applies? In which case, bring on the Fokker Dr1, Albatros DIII, SPAD VII/XIII, Nieuport 17.... but we really need a Dolphin and a DH5! Richard in NZ
  23. Excellent work, an outstanding model. Richard in NZ
  24. Very attractive model, well done. Richard in NZ
