  1. Tremendous work as always Mark, enjoying this! Richard in NZ
  2. Very nicely done, especially the folded wings. Did you rescribe? Hard to tell from the pics. Richard in NZ
  3. I see that they have already helped themselves to my money, so I can only hope that the kit makes it beyond "the warehouse"... Richard in NZ
  4. In Cold War Shield Vol 1 Roger Lindsay notes WH453 as being with 72 Sqn from 3/12/54 until 4/5/56. On 4/5/56 "apart from one retained as a hack the last F8s were flown away". Unfortunately no picture or further details. Warpaint on the Meteor has a photo of WK817 K of 72 Sqn, no date given, in camouflage with blue/red bars and late clear canopy. If I were modelling WH453 I would depict it thus. Camouflage was reintroduced in December 1953, and given that the squadron did not receive WH453 until December 1954 I suggest that it would almost certainly have been camouflaged when received. Others will no doubt know more. HTH. Richard in NZ
  5. Lovely job, weathering is (to me) just right. Richard in NZ
  6. By "RAF" do they mean FAA? Richard in NZ
  7. Thank you Paul, helpful review. I received my kit today and am very impressed. One small point, were the AEW2s not overall DSG rather than EDSG? Not a criticism, just seeking clarification. Richard in NZ
  8. Thank you Sten for a thorough and helpful review. Richard in NZ
  9. Nice work Calum. I too am eagerly awaiting the Airfix 1/72 Victor. Like the Monteith's bottle top... Richard in NZ
  10. So soon after Kiwi Resins release their Aerovan - there's a coincidence... Richard in NZ
  11. Nice work Radar, and thank you for proving that as soon as one does a conversion from scratch a commercial one comes out... Richard in NZ
  12. Beautiful model. What did you use for the NMF, Alclad? Richard in NZ
  13. There is Euro Decals 72104 "Occupational USAF" available from Fantasy Printshop: http://www.fantasyprintshop.co.uk/Occupational-F-47D-s-and-P-51D-s_B216LP.aspx Richard in NZ
  14. I have just purchased the Ecliptic decals for a Lebanese SM79 from Arctic. Mika, the proprietor, could not have been more helpful and provided first-class service on a small order from the other end of the world - Finland to New Zealand. Very highly recommended! (I have no affiliation etc, just a very satisfied customer). Richard in NZ
  15. Fascinating stuff, this. Why the huge fin flashes, one wonders? "We Are Not Americans" last line of defence? What an interesting period this was. Richard in NZ
  16. Yes, but the PRICE???!!! Or am I the only poverty-stricken modeller... Richard in NZ
  17. Nice kit, nice result! And does not every RAF aircraft look best in R/W/B roundels? Richard in NZ
  18. Welkin, drop me a PM, I am in Auckland and can show you around if it suits you. Cossack52, I used to watch the Sunderlands taking off on Evans Bay, Wellington, from the school bus in 1965. If you are modelling one (waiting for the Italeri MR5?) decals are available from Oldmodels decals. Richard in NZ
  19. I am with Jens, I have wanted to build that scheme with the green and black fin since first I saw it some 40 years ago. But then I am half Danish... Richard in NZ
