Terrific! That rotor hub deserves a Saturday morning science fiction serial all of its own - where's Gerry Anderson when you need him?

Agreed, now the rotor is on it really brings it all together. Personally I feel the nacelles would look better painted, but overall a fantastic rendition.

@woody37, where did you get the base? Or did you make it?

I never thought of painting the nacelles, I did think about painting the prop hubs blue, but wanted to give it that traditional Negus look. Yes, the base was made using static grass. Still needs a bit of work to it, but it sets the model off more than a white plain background.

    Cheers guys :)

Is that a para at the back ? Fantastic job. Truly impressive

Not sure what you mean on the para? There's some civvy passengers in it

    Hi Neil.

Excellent Matey.  You couldn't have chosen a more plausible scheme in my view.  Another winner.

    Speak soon.

    Chris.

Thanks mate, catch up soon :)

What a great idea and so well executed. Ive always wondered about a 60's Support Command whay if  in early Hercules colours.

Now that's a great idea! Hopefully someone steels your idea!

Thanks for all the comments everyone, this is certainly one of those failed projects that lines the British aviation archives.

  3. Sorry for the late response (to my own post lol!). I'm sure the one in the pic I shared had a turret installed. @Graham Boak mentions a clearer shot with the tips removed, but I couldn't see that. The aircraft flying over appear to be Buffalo's, so it does give a good chance of the video used being from the Singapore area.

  4. Hi all,

Just watching Nazi Megastructures on TV and came across a short video believed to be Singapore if the clip is accurate. What grabbed my attention was a clipped winged Blenheim, I've never seen one before. Does anyone have more info on the set up?

  5. Sorry about the lack of posts recently, real life has been getting in the way a bit. Had a bit of momentum this week, there's only the rotor to do then it's finished. I was looking to put the reg on the tails, but wasn't happy with blending the red of the home made decal in to the background so chose to put them on the fuselage instead. also added a radome copying the Sea King idea as well as a few other minor details that 'might' of found there way into service requirements.

  6. Sorry for contributing to thread drift, but I think it shows how much affection and relevance the Herc had in many peoples lives.

@amos brierley, my memories fade now of our times back them, but I do remember vividly one flight with 20-30 cadets on board doing several hours of 'touch n goes'. Many were sick and the 'liquid' was swishing around on the floor as we continually descended and climbed! Oh, the smell 🤣

Looking good there, nice to see a picture of XV295,my favourite Herc,i was involed with the modification fitting the llltv camera below the front window and the the turret below the radome,a great job to be involved with.

Just checked my 3822 and XV295 was one I flew on when I was in air cadets (70Sqn), same squadron as @amos brierley, did you get on that one too mate?
