  1. A postman just came and brought me my package! Of course, I stopped working (at home office) and went on to unpack it. RusAir Tu-134A kit is THE DAMN ULTIMATE BEST CANDY RESIN KIT I have ever seen! I would never have imagined that a resin kit can be so FANTASTIC! It is moulded in a high pressure injection resin, and the mould is absolutely flawless. Except for removing the casting blocks/wafers which are hold very thin and fine, and in easy-to-access places, no work seem to be necessary! It looks like no filler will be needed at all, at least as long as I could test the wing-fuselage and stabiliser-fin joint. The only "physical" option is a glazed nose for a navigator cabin or a solid nose for a radar. You also get a huge amount of decals spread on 5 sheets. The two largest ones handle the paint schemes - Aeroflot USSR, Aeroflot Russia old, Aeroflot Modern, and UTAir. Alot of stencils, 2 styles of windows (black and grey), 3 styles of glazing, alot of doors, hatches, etc. These bear the Begemot sign, who printed these. Another small decal sheet carries the tail flags for the modern Aeroflot. Two other carry alot of digits for the reg numbers, in both soviet "rounded" and modern "cornered" fonts. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/1/8/6/0581681.jpg http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/6/6/4/0497466.jpg http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/6/8/0/1306086.jpg http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/0/9/4/1343490.jpg Two Eastern Express kits are also inside, and a PAS-Decals sheet for Il-96 Tupolev Tu-334 - well, it is a mixed feeling. All parts have ALOT of flash, some are broken loose in the bag, and I know the fit is owful from the other guys, but well, no problem for me here. Detailing looks nice. Decals are a bit simplistic, with no stencils. Only the prototype is covered. These look well however. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/2/1/6/1255612.jpg The Il-96-400T Freighter. Well, alot of flash, but OK The windows are OWFULLY WRONG for the passenger version, but I need to fill them for a freighter, anyways! Transparency is matte, but I'll use it only as a filler for the opening. Wheels and landing gear are useless, but they are virtually identical to a Il-86. Or I might go for a inflight version, never did that! I got both the kit's decals and PAS decals, both for the same, very colorful aircraft, RA-96102. Some items look better on the kit's sheet, some on the PAS decals. In fact, the only trouble of PAS are the horisontal or diagonal lines in the door stencils, which are not well printed. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/0/9/4/1248490.jpg
  2. Reading russian on it says Yak-24L Its a Plastikart kit
  3. I ordered both from the RusAir/PAS Decals. I know the owner of that company on a russian forum, and as I wanted to order the RusAir Tu-134, I asked him whether he can get me both EE kits too, and he could.
  4. Hey, any chance to get a copy of it? I'd love to build it!
  5. As most of my planned airliner projects are still missing something (kit, aftermarket decal, resin parts....), I have unpacked yet another CL.604 from Revell. This time with kit's own decals. The main problem is - this kit hated me! Everything which could go wrong - went wrong! Blue paint running on white, spilling a can of gunze red over the decalled model, leaving fingerprints, tamiya tape lifting the decal from under the clear seal, falling from table and breaking apart, and as a result having a crash landing in a trashbin twice... Well, I am however happy to have this tiny hooligan done, even if my girlfriend meant, that she learned a huge lot of new curse words from me during this build!
  6. Never saw this aircraft before, and its cute! The build is also perfect!

    737

-300, -400, and -500 are the second generation of 737. -600 to -900 are the third. In fact, 3rd generation 737 is a totally different aircraft, with only general size and scheme being the same. From Revell kit you can do -600, -700 and -800 (and -900 + -700 or -600 from two revell kits). The cutting scheme for the revell kits is here: http://www.drawdecal.com/alaska/737NG-conversions.pdf Enjoy!
  8. Well, I am waiting for a few more russian kits, so stay tuned
  9. Sounds good I hope the 334 is also ok. The RusAir resin stuff is highly praised in Russia, but is barely known outside of it, so I hope the praises are true But first I want to see both decal sheets, from EE and from PAS-Decals before I make a decision which one I'll use.
  10. Sounds good I got both (Il-96T Atlant-Soyuz Cargo + better decal sheet from PAS, Tu-334 factory colors), as well as RusAir resin Tu-134 from RusAir, Russia. In fact, its my first attempt to get a kit from Russia delivered here... the money is transferred, but it is already about 1.5 weeks underways... However, the snail mail in Russia is always ultrasnail, with a large risk of the stuff getting stolen ;(
  11. Maybe you at least have the other engine pod's graphics? I mainly would be interested in these as decals, and airbrushing the rest And with graphics, I have no problem doing decals myself...
  12. I'd assume Italeri, as Bilek used to reissue a few other Italeri forms in the past... Not sure, however!
  13. Heya Are there any good BAC 1-11 plans available which would assist me in rescribing the Airfix model? Online or Books (in english, russian, german or spanish) would be fine Cheers Petr
  14. Thanks! But, how are you running the decal company if you dunno how to do them?
  15. While waiting for my 757 engines to arrive from Hannants, I took one of the three revell CL-604 kits which I bought a few days a go for 10 euro on a sale. I thought I'll try something else then usual white, and after searching the airliners.net I found a very attractive silver-black livery with quite simple markings. So, I made the decals myself, printed them with my laser on the ACT paper, and even if my printer hates doing decals (toner sticks to the drum more then to paper...) I got enough usable pieces for a try. So, here's the try In fact, I have taken too bright silver for the fuselage, so it barely contrasts with the engine cones and leading edges.. On paper it looked like much more difference between Gunze Chrome Silver and aluminium colors used.... But anyways, I like the result and im happy with it
  16. Fantastic and very inspirational! I would love to see it live! And your stamina and will to go on even in case of such catastrophic problems is also very respectable!
  17. A very beautiful one! As a coincidence, I just got this kit yesterday! and searching for the decals now
  18. The only trouble were the decals - they reacted badly with Gunze Mark Softer. After damaging the port side window stripe, I used no setting solution, and the decals settled very well without the it. Else the kit is excellent, with good to very good fit (paint wings, engines and stabiliser separately, plug in, no filler!) and being generally accurate. The only missing thing is the antenna, but I made mine out of Aires 1/48 Hurricane PE's rests in some 5 mins And the area is Manchester, 1989, this one was spotted there
  19. So, I finally made the better photos of my "Tupol'", and here it is.
  20. *Crosses fingers* - I hope it'll work fine this time!
  21. I usually use the Gunze stuff for setting, as its stronger then the Microscale. Also, if decals have trouble to come down, sometimes adding some drops of Gunze Mark Softer UNDER the decal works wonders...
  22. So far, I was lucky enough to receive all damaged parts replacements from different companies Heller - in fact, i spoilt it myself, bought a kit and a bottle of plastic glue.. well, while in the subway, glue ran out and damaged 2 parts of the kit (1/400 Admiral Scheer). I described it to them, expected them to send me the bill, but received the parts for free. This was some 6 years ago however Different MPM group things - never had a problem, even with the long OOP kits! An engine with one cylinder being a bubble damage, a damaged vacformed canopy? No problems, In both cases I received much more then expected! (in first case - a full set of resin parts for the kit, so both engines, MGs, antennas, cockpit pieces..., in second - 6! canopies) Minicraft - I had no decals in my 757-200 kit somehow. Even if I am using aftermarket stuff, I notified minicraft about this, and they told me they are sending me new ones. I did not received it so far, but i just asked last week, so its still ok
  23. Hmm, the ones I checked (757-200 and DC-8-63) were quite fine, looked up to scale, and were smooth. As DXF is a vector format, some older renderers might not have a possibility to show a curve and might replace it with a number of straight sections... Which one did you try to view?
