  1. Super stuff!
  2. Thanks Enzo, thoroughly enjoyed the builds and I seem to have caught the Mosquito bug. I even bought a second Revell 1/32 B.IV, so I could try the build without making the same mistakes as the first one. And its been great to get a ton of advice and support from other modellers.
  3. Regrettably, none of my three will be finished in time. Some might suggest that being admitted to hospital and avoiding papering the spare room is a poor excuse, but it is what it is. Nothing serious, but requires hospitalisation. Bugger!
  4. I'd be interested to hear how people are doing streaking? I always seem to make a complete mess!
  5. yep.. nice work. The pre-shading is really effective.
  6. Well, some of us are dumb enough to have a second bite at the 1/32 Revell BIV, another one incoming.
  7. It is... wrong scale but looks like a mossie...
  8. Thanks. I'll go on the hunt for the Aeromaster sheet. Tempted by PF 506 GB-U from the Combat Colours monograph. A BXVI equipped with bulged bomb bay, but I'm not sure what type of canopy it has based on the illustration.
  9. At this point I'm thinking the two stage with bulged bomb bay. Which i think gives me quite a few marks. Now a matter of rummaging through the various 1/48 Mossie Decal Sheets to find one i can cobble together. At the moment, the combat colours guide no 5 is easiest to read.
  10. I'm hoping I can rescue this, before I start on the Airfix 1/48 PR.XVI, which as far as I can see, can be built as a huge variety of models. Seems to have parts for one and two stage engines, 5 or 6 tube exhausts, multiple canopies, optional bulged bomb bay, FB nose etc. Decisions Decisions.
  11. Have you ever had a build you think is actually cursed? - Of course; all this means is I now want to buy another one to see what I have learned from the mistakes. Wondering if anyone does a 1/32 canopy for a FB VI?
  12. oh - did I mention I am rethinking the markings.. i thought (innocently) i woudl just pringt up some markings on my laser printer with th enice new laser printer decal paper I got.. result: an hour disassembling the printer. - starting to think this thing is cursed.
  13. ok, so there have been a few missteps... where i left off, was that every time I tried to do anything the fuselage seam would pop open. I must have reglued it 4 times. Each time, prime, sand, etc... First time attempt at stripes I got a fair bit of overspray so tried to clean it with IPA - and ended up with this unholy mess, paint reacted to form a sticky mass... Good thinks I, sorted, - removed tape and: Doh!! Ok, much paint sanding, remasking etc - and with vac form canopy needing fettling Nose removed to fix the resized side window and sanded back to improve the join. Started masking the canopy - of course the Montex masks don't fit the vacform.. will I ever finish it? maybe.
  14. Today the cursed Revell #BigMossie got its vacform canopy added, the stripes finished and the front window fixed... hopefully will get to an end point. After the decals paper jammed the laser, I reckon I am going to have to mask and airbrush the lettering....
