Hello Can anyone tell me if these wheels could fit on Trumpeter´s MAZ Scud B (or any other of their MAZ trucks)? TIA.
-
Hello Antoine I´m not 100% sure but... from the photos I´ve seen, Portuguese VBLs have both MG-3s and .30 MGs in that position.
-
Thanks for the review. BTW, the third painting option (overall green/olive drab), as well as some of the decals, are intended to represent a Portuguese Army vehicle (licence plate MX-39-22). Regards.
-
Now I understand! Thank you very much for all replies left as they are very helpful.
-
But I´ve seen pictures of Jags with double BL755s under each wing... now I´m confused.
-
Where can I get pylons for carrying double BL755s (for a total loadout of 4x BL755)?... as far as I´m aware, KH supplies single BL755s pylons. Regards.
-
Hi Thanks for the excellent review but... could you please confirm (or not!) that your review model has "2 x BL755 Cluster Bomb"? I can only find one of such bombs inside my own, recently acquired, FRS.1. Regards.

IMO this is one of the nicest 1/48 Seaking offers. Yellow schemes always get our attention (for better or for worse). I would like to get one to myself but the price tag is a little too high for me... hence the questions that will decide my mind. Are there any huge mistakes or omisions? Is there something that needs to be added? Thanks in advance.

Italeri 1/48 Wessex - Best (least mistakes) decal option OOB
jmc.pt replied to jmc.pt's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Colin and Len Thanks for all the info... I just ordered Xtradecal´s sheet... the arabic lettering, together with the yellow SAR scheme is just impossible to resist (yes, I know I´ll have to get a2zee´s HAR.2 conversion set...). I think I´m falling in love with all these Wessex schemes... -

Italeri 1/48 Wessex - Best (least mistakes) decal option OOB
jmc.pt replied to jmc.pt's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Hi Colin Thanks for such a prompt reply... Modeldecals? I´ve heard of them before, but I´m unable to find them anywhere. Can you help and point me a direction? Thanks again. -
Hello I´ve read several statements that at least 2 of the options have their issues... Option "B" (RAF, Akrotiri) has the wrong serial, Option "C" (RN, Culdrose) has a lot of mistakes such as a red ring around the intake that should be yellow, ace of clubs to small, etc... So my question is, what about the two other options ("A" from Falklands and "B" from Farnborough)? Are they accurate? What is the best option to build OOB, with the least mistakes (decals speaking)? Thanks.

Alternative to Xtracolor Blue Gray? (Italeri´s Wessex Culdrose scheme)
jmc.pt replied to jmc.pt's topic in Aircraft Cold War
This is more like what I was looking for... Mixing Airfix references might be tricky, because I don´t have easy access to them, therefore I think I might try my luck with the GSB... perhaps mixed with another colour, to get a lighter shade. Thanks to all that replied ... If someone else reads this, and has an opinion, please fell free to say something. -
Hello I´m about to start building Italeri´s 1/48 HU.5 Wessex in the Culdrose scheme... my question is, other that the Xtracolor reference for RAF Blue Gray, what else is on the market? Are there other acrylic references (Tamiya, Gunze, Vallejo, etc...)?... a mix of several colors/shades?... What options do I have? Please let me know. Thanks. Best Regards.

Royal Air Force Eagle GR.4A "Operation Telic 2003"
jmc.pt replied to Piero's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I enjoyed your work very much. How about a step-by-step topic, on your next TSR-2 project ??? -
Is that the Airfix 1/48 model you´re showing ? I probably was under the influence of some "strange" substances , but when I inspected the model, it seemed to me that those same circles are much more closer to the leading edge. I´ll have to take another look at the model.

Hello May I recommend the following link ? http://uscockpits.com/Jet%20Bombers/Jet%20Bombers.html#B57 It has some useful information.
-
Do you know anybody (or any seller), that does this seat as an aftermarket resin item ? Thanks.
-
I had already asked myself this same question...and indeed, I had noticed these 8 circles. But while I closely inspected the 1/48 TSR-2 from Airfix, I couldn´t help thinking that these circles seem to be too far ahead and in consequence too close to the wing leading edge. Not trying to question your knowledge or authority, but may I ask where did you got this info from ? Official sources or papers ? Thanks.

I was thinking about doing a mid-60s B-57B (option A)...it´s hard to resist that overall black scheme, with red and yellow markings. Thanks.
-
Hello I just got my brand new Airfix 1/48 B-57B, and while looking at the instructions, I noticed that it comes with 2 different types of ejection seats options. One seat type for option A and B (B-57B and RB-57E) and another for option C (B-57G). I went through my "archive", and learnt that the "G" version, as well as all the other versions from 1969 on, had the Douglas ESCAPAC seat fitted. But I couldn´t find which seat was fitted before that. Can anyone name the seat type used before the Douglas ESCAPAC ? Thanks.
-
Hello I had posed that question to myself, before. I would like to do one of the SAAF T4... in the future. Does anybody knows which type (original or converted) were used by South Africa ? Thanks.
-
Hi "hatchet" Not trying to question your reply, or even your knowledge, but may I ask you how have you reached that conclusion ? Because in my opinion, the photo I pointed out can lead to both possibilities. Thanks.

Hi While discussing this topic with a fellow modeller, we couldn´t get into an agreement about what specific type of precision guided weapons, the F-111 F used during the El Dorado mission (Lybia bombing by F-111 F). We (obviously) agreed that the weapon of choice was the GBU-10 aka Paveway...but we are not able to agree which type was used. Was it the Type I (with larger fins) or Type II (with smaller/deployable fins) ? The only picture we know of (seen here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:F-111F_G..._for_Libya.jpg) is not clear enough (at least for us both). So... Anyone ??? Thanks.

I thought exactly the same, by the time I was typing the reply....
