  1. @JCH, I hesitate to call it a "How-To", more of a "how I do it", to save you the searching it's >> here <<
  2. Nice one Ross, that colour is just as good as I imagined it would be.
  3. That metering unit is a work of art in itself. I know what you mean about the scaling not being 100% accurate on some of the fittings. but the end result looks "proportionally correct" to my eyes. Beautiful work as always.
  4. Out & about in the camper at the weekend & saw a banana yellow C3 Corvette, post '74 with the plastic protuberances at each end, a sky blue 60s Caddillac I think, the same Maserati Quattroporte (obviously lives locally) & then finally this OverWeight Range Rover at the Coop;
  5. Last thing I need is another excuse to buy tools but..................... As I'm prone to bouts of "fumble fingers" with models or parts thereof ending up in my lap or on the floor, there is a lot to be said for such a device, indeed I have one for assembling pcbs no less (electronics, yet another hobby & former trade).
  6. No apology needed, on my fairly large desktop monitor, this looked real enough for me to assume it was a reference photo. !!
  7. More great progress Olivier, and some amazing reference pics. I wonder if the wastegate assembly would have been better left unattached at this time given the delicate nature of the parts ? I'm not familiar with the instructions, so it would depend how much more handling then engine will undergo before it is better protected ?
  8. That's a very nice build. Those wheels look really good, what did you use to re-chrome them ?
  9. I've seen several of these recently on fleapay & akin to the Union Memorial question; What's the big deal with them ? I see most priced around 3x a regular Revell 1/24 kit or more. Are they super detailed ? High parts count ? Include PE or add on detailing parts? I've discovered virtually nothing on t'internet about them, could I call upon the wisdom of our membership to enlighten me please ?
  10. Ebay reserve always used to be £50 minimum, not sure if it's been reduced ? There are plenty of sellers on there asking astronomical sums for things in every category, they seem content for them to sit there being relisted endlessly. Then again, "There's one born every minute...." as they say.
  11. No I wasn't trying to imply that at all, apologies if that was how it came across. Perhaps I should have said " Even paint intended specifically for scale modelling doesn't scale that well" That said, on the single occasion I tried Humbrol acrylics my experience was not good & since then I have only used Tamiya or Mr.Color
  12. That is looking really smart, a really crisp, clean build. A fine job on the windows masking
  13. Those wheels are looking good, even if you do feel the need for another coat of paint. Close up shots like that are always far more revealing than you'd like, but you have to consider the practicalities of working at that scale (or at least, I feel I do). Even quality modelling paint doesn't scale that well.
