Question. I have put the decals on and am in the process of doing the 'varnish' I am using the humbrol satin cote stuff. Will this hide the edges of the decals? you know the shiny bits. I have put on a couple of light coats on so far but doesnt seem to be hiding it much. Am i hoping for too much or will more coats do it? Cheers Tom Oh and martin, thanks for the tip it was most usefull I never thought to tick them off as i was putting them on. I love those simple things that you just never think of doing they help a lot ! -

Here is an update, Been busy spraying, this is my first go with an airbrush and I am pretty pleased with the result. You can also see the position in which it will be presented, currently held up with some mole grips I will have to find somethng more suitable as a base (though secretly I like the grips!) Sorry for the quality of these first two pics had to teke em with the camera on my phone. Spraying the pannel lines never done it before was a bit worried about how it would turn out. I'm glad i did it in gray and not black as I was going to it would have taken loads of coats! The lighting isnt great on these pics, the sun just went in! And who knows when it will return? Next step deacls agghhh ages since I've done those plenty of opportunity to screw this up. Cheers Tom -

nice post peter. I guess it wasnt entirely my skills in question then, maybe a little though, was a really nice fix you made. had to do something similar to get the central wing secton to fit, though i did just use something i cut off one of the sprues. Cheers Tom -

I like it! she looks pretty in gray! I always fancied a shackleton, which I thought it was to begin with! obviously not one on closer inspection. Does anyone make one? or is it scratch/modification time? well done! tom -

Smeds, Cheers for the tip. do you have to guess at the colours or is there some corrilation to the Humbrol colours? Oh and do you use primer on your kits? is it strictly necessary? Ta, Tom -

Hey guys, Not really anything to report yet as I am witing for my new airbrush kit to turn up. I dont want to balls anything up with my paintbrush so will have to wait. As I am an airbrush virgin this could be interesting.... those of you that know, what should the final coat be? I think i know how to do the actual paint work (maybe) but mat, satin? gloss surely not on anti flash. And do i have to thin it? Any good makes to go for? or bad ones to avoid for that matter. Cheers! update soon I hope! TOm -

I havent quite figured out how to fix it yet, Im a little worried about the weight of the finished model ballanced in just 2 legs so it might need some help. I am going to fix it to a base/runway so hopefully it shouldnt be too difficult. cheers for the tips, T -
Hi Guys and Galls, After not doing any modelling for years I have just returned to the fold. After all who can resist the beautifull lines of the TSR2?!?! I am posting my progress on this model in the hope that I can get some helpfull feedback from anyone who has experience with this aircraft or just has a comment. Currently almost everything you see is just clipt together not glued. Firstly My little dudes! Better than my usual standard, but any tips from amyone are appreciated as I know they can be better. Men from above! Landing gear, to leave the metal or to paint that is the question. Front gear This might be the posture i was thinking of going with, maybe landing with that droop on the rear gear that makes it look like a duck landing on ice..... Cheers! TOm

This was the last aircraft I did, hope to do much better this time. Will be posting in the 'in progress' forum if anyone is interested, will be needing lots of pointers I think. Cheers Guys. TOm

Kirk, I have seen Skii's work, must admit it is a little daunting seeing one that good. I can only hope to have mine turn out that well. Stolen a few ideas of his on the landing gear so far, no doubt will borrow a few more by the end. Thanks for the tip. TOm
