  1. Hi all Would like to contribute the 1:48th Hasegawa P-40M Warhawk to the build. Cheers Robert Donnelly
  2. Thanks Hawkeye. You have given my cloud a silver lining
  3. So its not that good then. Its not going to wreck my airbrush if i use it? I suppose the polishing cloth will come in handy
  4. Hi folks I have a SnJ products spray metal starter kit. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this product. Cheers Robert
  5. Hi Tony That looks totally awesome! I have a Hobbycraft Corsair, which i believe is the Trumpeter moulding. This has inspired me to have a go at it. Can you please tell me how you made the air vents for the rear fuselage. Robert
  6. Thanks for that Stonar. I think i will leave the stencilling off. It makes sense why it would be covered in theatre. Those fuselage numbers are a killer in 1/48th never mind 1/72nd
  7. Very nice Don. I think mottle looks great in this scale . Probably because its more difficult to do. Small is beautiful. What type of paint are you using for this project?
  8. Luvely finish. Love the early 109s since i watched the Battle of Britain movie when i was little. Robert
  9. Hi Colin Thanks for that. Will take you up on that offer. I'm surprised you have time to have a hobby. The CPNs i know dont have much time to do anything. My last placement was with them. Working 9-5 every day left me knackered at night. Its better working early shifts at the hospital finishing at 3. Cheers from Robert
  10. Hi Don Thats a nice lookin airbrush. I like the trigger style. I have an Iwata Eclipse, which is nice to use. But i still cannot master mottle. Good luck with the project. Please post when finished. Robert
  11. Hi Don I have a question for you. What does a Grex airbrush look like? It must be a fine piece of kit if it can produce the ring colour scheme on the 109
  12. That looks great Don Are you going to have the engine exposed. Love the colour scheme. Where did you find it? Would like to see it when finished. Robert
  13. Hi Phil Thanks for that. Robert
  14. Hi Plimsol Im thinking about buying this kit, but havent got a clue what colours to use as i find revell colour matches/mix ups difficulf to do. Robert
  15. I can remember building the Airfix Beaufighter myself when i was in primary school aroundabout 1972. My uncle used to build them for me. But that was my first solo effort. Robert
  16. Excellent piece of work Ed. Would love to try lozenge decalling. Are they easy to use? Robert
  17. Thankyou all for your advice. Robert
  18. I see. The camouflage was provided in the form of decals. The only paint work was the RLM 76. I think it looks a bit toy like at the moment, have to weather it a bit. The engine looks great though. Will post when finished

    distilled water

hi folks Can someone please tell me where can i buy distilled water for thinning acrylic paints? Is it the same as de-ionised water used for car batteries or am i way off track? Robert
  20. Hi all! I have finally finished my psychiatric nurse training. Looking for work now. I have got back to the hobby and have started this: What happens to the stenciling when aircraft are in the field? Finemolds provide a large amount of stencils. Should i have put them on the fuselage before i added the camouflage decals? I wish i could airbrush as good as this. Robert
  21. Hi Plastic Thanks for the advice. I joined photobucket and am now compiling my family album
  22. Hi It was easy to stick together. Supreme German engineering at its finest! I used Eduard masks and did the camouflage with bluetack. I remember reading something about the 177s engines being dodgy. Something about drive shafts I think? Robert
  23. Thanks Iain I'm going to lie down now
