Cheers for the heads up. I expected to have to do a bit more sanding before mating, but this is very close first time and only needs a bit of fettling. Def not as much as the last bunch of BSU-86 tails I made up I plan on doing Mr surfacer dark base then the bright finish. I've no doubt it will be fine

I got my delivery of these the other day. They are great. Very very sharp details and the dry fit goes together better than similar type resin weapons from well established large suppliers. Because the cold weather has affected my compressor I'll have a delay before I work on them, I want thin applications to keep the details. Going to be great on Hawk/Harrier/Buc etc

ah just seen you are sorted, I have the Academy two seater in the stash that i'm thinning

Don't know if this is relevant.. Just received an order from Flying Leathernecks. $52 order $14 shipping 12 days from point of order to Aberdeen. And as an aside some of the best aftermarket parts I've seen

Sikorsky S-61N G-BEWL
Westie7 replied to Jamie @ Sovereign Hobbies's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Will be interested to see this one progress. I remember when I was young and other than the odd Bell or S-76, it was 61N's everywhere. I used to skip school and go on the pickup run at Longside airfield. IIRC G-BEIC and G-BEID had a bit of a jinx reputation amongst the crews, always a drama with Charlie! -

Now we just need decent accurate ones in any scale, come on Eduard you seem to be coming up with lots of weapons recently -
Eduard`s F-4D Phantom II in 1:48, 480th TFS "Warhawks"
Westie7 replied to mathy's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Phantastic, There is something a bit special about a fully stencilled Phantom in SEA. -
Now that is rather special, top work. I have the A model in the stash, was wondering if the gun vents ahead of the nose wheel bay are correct for the A or C. There was a build post with the differences somewhere but I can't find it.

Ambush 07, F/A-18C Flanker, VFC-12 1/48th Hasegawa
Westie7 replied to Shaun's topic in F/A-18 Hornet Single Type Group Build
Just found this whilst doing research as I've picked up a reduced F/A-18A. Quite like the idea of a blue bandit hornet since I came across a pic of NSAWC #22 on the net. I think that VFC-12 bugs morphed into NSAWC bugs. Got so much on it'll be in the stash for some time so I'll bookmark this and probably drool over it when you finish -
Now theres a set of markings you dont see very often, DIng-Dong!
-
Ive got a bookmarks folder with all the best builds Ive ever seen, this is now in it... Fantastic

Still stinks of Yak-38 design to me, and we all know what was said of deadlift engines back then
-
Also doesnt mention that even if the F-35 is on schedule they will not actually return to Marham until 2018 after working up in the US

IIRC the auxiliary inlet doors on some of the fujimi releases are in the wrong position http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/phantom/models.php

Let me check when I get back off my business trip, might do

Ordered the wolfpack folded wing set 48146, so after a bit of hacking it will be a 'J' I will see what typical 70's hi-viz decals I can find now
-
Cheers Jonathan Wolfpack 48146 looks very nice, I have cut and dropped control surfaces before (albeit very crudely) so i'd be happy to take this on. Luckily I can afford to splash on the aftermarket after paying 20 quid for the kit Rgds Mark

Don't know if this has been covered before but I'm sure someone will point me in the right direction. I picked up a bargain QF-4S Hasegawa Bloodhounds boxing, with the engraved panel lines, and looking at options. I would prefer to do a Hi-Viz F-4J instead of a Low-Viz F-4S and wondered about the conversion. Other than the minor surgery the big one is the slatted wing (Sprue M) and wondered if anyone has converted a slatted wing to non slatted. If its straightforward I'l give it a go. Cheers

1/32 Academy F/A-18C Hornet, Asymmetric Load Out
Westie7 replied to danimalmagic's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Danny One of the ideas I had for my hornet was twin winders on the outer pylon. I did have a picture of a Canadian bird which looked like it was fitted with twin LAU-7 either side of the LAU-115 as opposed to the kit configuration -127 Unfortunately can't find the picture again
