  1. What's the story with Fly? There's been a 1/48 Strikemaster/Jet Provost due for release for about 2-3 years...... (Not planning on hijacking a Whitley thread to talk about Strikemasters - more a "don't hold your breathe" statement....)
  2. Tamiya 1/48 Zero - needs interior of undercarriage doors and flaps painting and fitting ICM 1/48 Spit XVI - needs undercarriage and prop painting and attaching Hasegawa 1/48 P-51D - needs prop painting Academy 1/48 Hunter and SMER Macchi MC72 - at sand and paint shop Tamiya 1/48 F-15 - partially assembled, stalled at the Aires seat Monogram 1/48 B-29 - rescribed and assembled fuselage - awaiting custom-made resin cowlings, being built by a colleague Eduard 1/48 P-40N, Tamiya Fw190 & Me109E - almost ready for paint Accurate Miniatures McLaren M8B - half built Airfix E-boat and HMS Belfast - Hulls assembled about 40 more waiting in the stash....
  3. Brilliant! Why hasn't someone made decals of Jane for the Tamiya kit?
  4. Bet it doesn't include the losses of RAF Bomber Command for the same period............
  5. Thanks again, Silver Fox - there's a Kiwi Modeller forum/site I'll post something on....
  6. Thanks, Silver Fox - not too worried about the interior, as no-one who will see the finished model would have ever seen the cockpit of a RNZAF Macchi (myself included - and I was A/C mechanic when they were in service) - but would definately want to add the exterior changes. Will have to try and track a conversion set down... Thanks
  7. Hi - I have this kit on order - what is involved in converting it to a "C"?
  8. I seem to recall that the Italian Air Force museum outside Rome has a couple of SPADs/Nieuports flown by Italian Aces? Anyway - in my opinion, one of the best aircraft museums I've been to....
  9. Thanks guys - I'm assuming there's no 1/48 scale vac forms either? May have to settle for Matchbox/Revell 1/72 kits then...
  10. Does anyone have any news on when the 1/48 Ventura is coming out? Thanks
  11. .... of the Heinkel He115 in 1/48 scale? Or the Dornier Do24? Thanks
  12. I've had this problem with new Ventura decals - absolutely brilliant as far as colour, register, thickness, etc concerned - but where they are first positioned is where they want to stay - being really thin doesn't help with the reposition process, as they are too fragile to move without tearing..... Gloss coats, microset/sol hasn't resolved the issue - maybe my gloss coats aren't glossy enough?
  13. Thanks - can see another hannants order in my very near future....
  14. any one know when the Airfix Seafire is released? Thanks
  15. Just looked at a P-51 in a hangar yesterday - definately a British engine- you can tell by the copious oil leaks.....
  16. I still have one in the top of a cupboard - though I think it is bigger than 1/35? Also, I seem to remember that it used to shed tracks fairly regulary during hard turns.......
  17. You're missing some RNZAF A-4K's......
  18. I've got this part built - wait until you get to the float struts - spent hours trying to figure which one went where..... still not sure they are correct.... Also, none of the pics I have show the radiator under the rear fuselage - I filled mine.....
  19. Just guessing, but it sounds like someone prefers RAN to RAAF?
  20. You do realise that adding another link to the supply chain will significantly increase the price? another warehouse, more stock on shelves (=dead money), someone else that needs a profit margin? Will very likely make yout VAT and import duty seem cheap by comparison.....
  21. Sopwith Triplane, Avro 504K, BE2
  22. Is it just me, or does she look like Goldie Hawn from "Private Benjiman"?
  23. Very cool....will be interested to read about the XV conversion when the mag comes out.
  24. I have a wing fold question - to what angle do they fold up to? I've sure I've seen pics of then folded to approx right angles (90deg) and well past 90 (more like Seafire XVII) - how come? Surely they were either folded or not?
  25. I thnk you'll find that the RAFM (Cosford and Hendon) have no intention of flying any of their exhibits, whether they are airworthy or not - AFAIK, their LVG which was loaned to the Shuttleworth collection has been returned to Cosford, its flying days are now effectively over....
