First class, what camera do you use, it must be very good to get that clos in on a 32nd panel with that clarity? -
Looking for some photgraphs of wheel wells, bomb bays, cockpit etc etc for an upcoming build, and good detail pics required of the above and open engine /elec panels etc if anyone has any they may be willing to share, My request for b1 pics met with very helpfull results, many thanks indeed for those that helped, not sure if the B2 will be as easy as i dont know if its all still secret.....

It is possible but the tamiya Merlin is the wrong type for the revell mossie... Its a 2 stage packard, the mosie(Revell kit) is a single stage Merlin and as such a fair bit shorter amongst other things..

Love building models with my son, hes 22 now and over the years has dipped in and out of it when the mood has taken him, ive brought him odd kits home now and again and sometimes he had a go and sometimes not, i never pushed him into anything but over the last 2 or 3'years, he has become quite serious about the hobby and is producing some dam fine models, he has his own stash and splits his hobby time between gaming amd modelling, he loves going to shows now and we make ayearly pilgrimage to telford as well as airshows like Riat ( flying legends for us this year tho) . It took me a long time to feel comfy with him in the workshop using a scalpel on his own though, so sprue nippers and sanding pads are definately the order of the day till hes about 21 1/2 haha!!! I look forward to your sons build and will follow and enjoy. -

Gorgeous plane, gorgeous build, excellent workmanship -
A superb model to be sure but im forced to agree with Doug, theres somethin up with the nose, diameter is too small at back of radome and reckon its a bit short from there forward..

I make my own simple patterns out of balsa wood and vacform them, ive got loads on the go and plans to do others, get bored sometimes just building kits and basically make a pattern and work on a scratchbuild alongside a kit build, i also have an almost finished 1/24 f35 vtol version and a 1/16 fe2b

the engines are robbed off a Trumpy 1/32 kit, you can barely see them when its closed up, im aware they are completely wrong but you can see so little of them it just gives the effect i was after

Oops, you are right of course, interestingly, i seem to remember that Tallman was the pilot of the Grumman Duck in murphys war and at the time he flew it he only had one leg due to a go karting accident....
-
Im aware of the crash that killed talman, the plane though was never a proper and accurate rehash of a c119 though, especially the one they used post crash for pickup shots, the one in the new movie never flew and only had forward motion by being mounted on a digitally removed'dolly but was much more accurate in terms of how the airframe would appear when cobbled together and the crash in the new movie , whilst ridiculously ott was well well done with digital sound to match, the cartridge start sequence was however far better in the original film as they had managed to build the tension and despereation far better than its modern counterpart, somewhere in the middle if you cobble the 2 movies together is a perfect film.....
-
Coffman starter Damned exciting film, the original James Stewart film is a better character study, the modern remake has more action and better effects...
-
not missing much, it was ok but only just, no where near as good as the original, and how can the possible try and redisign IMHO the best movie robot of all time!!!!!! Myself and my son got the hot toys new issue of the old Ed209, have absolutley no interest in this one though....

Out of interest, is this the same George Unwin that used to do the funny English in post war acting roles?

How come this kit hasnt (AFAIK) hit these shores yet, they seem to have been out in the states for months....? Or is it just me waiting for a watched kettle?

DeAgostini 'Build the Millenium Falcon'
markjames68 replied to Stu_davros's topic in Science Fiction Discussion
Interesting to see how many and how quickly people jump on the negative bandwagon with no evidence but their own concerns, Ive done a couple of de ag models, and enjoyed the builds a lot, i tend to save the parts and work on them as an entire kit so my build Falcon build is about 97 weeks away, i am ony about 25 weeks away from building my d51 loco though and that is 1 terrific kit, it needs a couple of tweeks here and there but what kit doesnt? On the basis of the loco i have nearly all of, i would order anything that took my fancy without hesitation as the quality really is there, ( an '0' guage DJH similar loco at half the size costs more than the Deag kit) . And paying for a kit of 800-900 weekly is a great option, there often arent completed builds available to view at the beggining as Deag tend to use another manufacturers existing kit for promotional reasons as with the Royal sovereign, a terriffic kit again at the same price and size (and quality) as the Mantua kit .- 138 replies
