  1. That is looking da business Gary. Well done mate. Deacon
  2. Thanks guys. A quick update. I build OOB, but even I had to try to add some stuff to this build. First the air intake for the engine needed a little something as it was just too big else.... and then there was the lack of cockpit detail, so I thought I would give that a go too...... . Thanks for looking. Deacon
  3. I have shelved the 1:48 Nieuport for the present (although Robert's link showing Albert Ball's Nieuport 16 has given me new hope to finish it). I wanted to do a smaller, easier kit. So, I'm making up the R.E.8 (although there seems to ba a fair amount of rigging). Here is the box shot and the first update. I've got a lot further with this over three days than I have on the Nieuport in two months! The only changes I have made is to use part of a paperclip to create the housing for the rear Lewis gun. The kit one was too round and too thick. Cheers Deacon
  4. Sorry to hear about your predicament, but you seem to have done your homework and are well prepared. Well done. Look forward to updates on this, as and when you have time. Take it steady. Deacon
  5. Gary, more pics please (you can never have too many of a Mossie ). On the issue of whether you will get the kit finished in time, I would say, if you don't mind, just enjoy the build mate. A lot of GB's are put together to give us modellers some focus on what to build next and to share a particular interest within the hobby. A lot of us have been where you about the possibility of not finishing a build in time and I for one have made a kit a chore rather than a pleasure. I've actually gone over the top with GB's this year and now realise I won't be able to complete them all, but that's fine so long as I focus on enjoying the hobby. From the sounds of it, with the interior stuff all together to be painted over the weekend, you're doing fine anyway. Look forward to your next update. Deacon
  6. Thanks Robert, I do appreciate the information, and the link. Deacon
  7. "Every day is a day at school" - Thanks Antoine Now I am really sorry that I am no longer making it. Deacon
  8. For a while now I have thought that I wanted to theme my 'modelling' but not make it too narrow. As a consequence I have decided that 99% of my builds will be of British aircraft or aircraft flown by RAF squadrons. So the Nieuport has been shelved and will be replaced by a British aircraft. Cheers Deacon
  9. Ray, that's looking great mate. What paint is the exterior silver, as it looks like it has gone on very nicely? Deacon
  10. That's a cracking looking interior Howard. Deacon
  11. That looks great Alex. I'm making a Buccaneer up for this GB so the info on the paint is useful. Cheers Deacon
  12. When this GB was proposed I said I would be building an Arado Ar 240C-2 NF. Since then I have decided I would like to something British (and hopefully simpler) so here is my entry, Matchbox's 1:72 Gloster Meteor NF14. I'm pretty sure this conforms to the GB rules, let me know if it doesn't. Cheers Deacon
  13. My first completed Britmodeller build. Opel Blitz "Maultier", Sturmgeschutzbrigade 286 Ostfront 1943. Deacon
  14. Finished! Venturing back into 1:35 AFV was a bit of a gamble, I was never that good at it, but at least this reduces the loft stash by 1. More photos in the finished builds. Thanks for looking Deacon
  15. Thanks Andy. Another update.... why do I have to leave everything to the last minute? Deacon
  16. Phew! For a minute there mate I thought you'd completely ruined the build, similar to poor Paul on the Finnish AF GB spilling liquid poly on his practically finished Mig 21. I am sure it won't even be noticeable, good recovery. Deacon
  17. This may be a bit of a daft question, but I just wondered when this GB finishes? Saturdya night or Friday night this week? Cheers Deacon
  18. Another update just to show that I am still looking to get this build finished. Cheers Deacon
  19. Sorry have I missed something? One minute I am looking at a beautiful 'part' build and the next post from you Pete is the one above? What's up? Deacon
  20. That interior is looking the business mate. Deacon
  21. That sucks Paul I don't want to rub it in mate, but the build was looking great. Deacon
  22. I like that a lot Andy, well done. Deacon
