  1. I have to admit mate I didn't expect camo like this on the build. Beautifully applied though. Deacon
  2. Looks great Warren, you must be chuffed with that. Now for the rigging. Best of luck mate. Deacon
  3. Well, here is the finished build. I had a near catastrophe as I was trimming the ends of the rigging. The plane fell out of my hands and headed for the floor. Thinking quickly I closed my legs so it would fall in my lap. Only, I wasn't quick enough and managed to sandwich it between my thighs. There was a audible crack and I feared the worse. However, I could see no structural damage, but the sharp eyed amongst you will see some threads aren't as taught as they should be. Anyway, here it is. and two shots of my four RFC builds. The DH.2 was made prior to this GB. Thanks for looking everyone. C&C welcomed. Deacon
  4. The shading on those wings looks cracking Nick. Well done mate, looking forward to the finished item Deacon
  5. Pete, that is a truly stunning build mate, well done. Deacon

  8. Damn that's a superb build Rich. Deacon
  9. Fantastic looking build OzH. I don't think my 1:72 Meteor is going to be completed. Deacon
  10. This is looking really good mate. A pity you only had cotton to use for the rigging. Looking forward to seeing this finished, but, as Mish says, take you time as you don't want to spoil it now. Deacon
  11. I tell you Nick, you must have the patience of a saint. Looking forward to the next update. Deacon
  12. OK, this is where the build is at close of play tonight. Sorry about the quality. Tomorrow I will be adding the rigging and might see this build finished on Tuesday. Cheers Deacon
  13. Airfix 1:72 Royal Aircraft Factory R.E. 8
  14. Warren, Great looking build so far mate, I like the finish on the prop. What paint did you use for the aluminium? Cheers Deacon
  15. As the GB host I have to agree with your decision. But I am sorry I can't agree with your reasoning. Deacon
  16. Well that scuppers my plans of starting a Sopwith Pup build next week! Consider me well and truly encouraged to get this build finished on time. Cheers Deacon
  17. Errr, although the same kit, you mean two Polish planes surely Erwin. See my post 9/3/10.
  18. Well I said that I was going to crack on with builds for other GB's, but I've got the bug after making the SE 5 and the RE 8. So, I am going to try to get this finished before the end of the GB. I started this build as I was making up the RE 8, honest. Box shot and two photos of the stage I am at now. I am hoping this will be a quit quick build, not so much rigging for starters. I notice in the photographs the middle wings didn't seem too straight so that has now been sorted. Cheers Deacon
  19. This is looking great Alex. I have a 1:72 kit of the Pup so will be using this thread as a guide. Looking forward to the next update mate. Deacon
  20. Thanks very much everyone for the positive feedback. Deacon
  21. Well, it's finished. I thoroughly enjoyed building this veteran Airfix kit. It is by no means perfect and I still have to learn how to 'hide' rigging holes , but I am glad I now have a RE 8 in my collection. The next two shots are of all three of my RFC aircraft. I wanted to get the RE 8 finished as the SE 5 is being donated to someone, so I wanted to get a photo whilst I could. I could go on making builds for this GB as it has really inspired me, but alas I have to do builds for the Gulf War GB, a Bomber GB and an Aggressor GB. So, thanks to the organisers and I hope Britmodeller has another one soon, or extends the closing date on this one. C&C welcome. Cheers Deacon
  22. Wow, so many GB's and so many threads! Fantastic looking A10 mate and produced in the right scale too. Well done. Deacon
  23. I blinked and missed this one. That is a cracking build mate. Well done sir. Deacon
  24. Thanks Adrian and Carl. At the moment I am trying to peice together where the rigging goes through information on the net. I'm not saying for one minute it will be complete, just sufficient. Right, the latest up date. A couple of shots showing the overal view, and one trying to get a close up of the scratchbuilt instrument panel. Tomorrow I hope to start on the rigging. Thanks for looking. Deacon
  25. You must keep a thread going on this mate. Deacon
