  1. Just finished this tonight. I have to confess that there are a couple of mistakes which I noted whilst applying the decals. I did struggle to work out where some bits should go from Aeroclubs instructions. Anyway, here are a few shots. Thanks for looking. Deacon
  2. Brilliant build of a much over looked aircraft. Well done Paul. Deacon
  3. Beautiful build Doug. I'd be well chuffed with that. Deacon
  4. Looking great so far Mark. I like the idea of painting the wheel wells before putting the wings together. The diarama will 'frame' the kit beautifully. I'm looking forward to the next update. Deacon
  5. Superb build so far FZ. The diarama will look awesome. Looking forward to the next update. Deacon
  6. Thanks for the heads-up Jes. Do you know whether anyone produces the same decals? Deacon
  7. I do like early war German stuff, hell I like all early war vehicles. Good luck with this, is it 1:35? Deacon
  8. I was hoping to build a British aircraft for this GB but as I am late joining, a lot of kits that I have are already part of other builders WIP threads. So, I found this in my stash and thought I would make a start on it. This build can be created as either Oberleutnant Franz von Werra's aircraft, as part of II/JG3, based to Samer, August 1940, or Hauptmann Hans von Hahn's aircraft as part of I/JG3, based at Colombert, August 1940. Here are the box and contents shots As you can see, ICM have produced it in white plastic, oh joy. Cheers Deacon
  9. I have never produced a base for my builds, I may have a go after seeing this. I'm with you on the garage spraying Madmonk. I've been banned too, but you can't blame the mem, you should see the grey dust in the garage. I have a heater down there to try to warm the air around the kit I am spraying, but you are right about the cold and the damp. This is why I have gone back to painting with a hairy stick, it just reduces the phaffing around and I can stay dry. Deacon
  10. If I'm guessing right, you're showing your age there mate. Deacon
  11. I knew nothing about this aircraft until I saw this kit. During May and June 1940 all Hectors based in the UK were used in attacks on German troops in Northern France. These planes also dropped supplies to the Calais garrison. So, here are the box and contents photos. Cheers Deacon
  12. Cracking builds mate, well done. I've made a Revell one myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully you will post more builds. Deacon
  13. Nicely done sir. I've made one of these myself and think Hobby Boss kits are good quality at a great price. I would like to make up a Brit Sabre, but wouldn't know where to start. Deacon
  14. I've got a navy Phantom to do in 1:72 which I'm looking forward to. Nice build mate. Deacon
  15. That little lot kept you off the streets mate. Well done. Deacon
  16. Hell guys you're scaring me, and I've built some! Deacon
  17. Surely guys we should be luring Ian into the dark arts, not scaring him off. Ian, I hope your first biplane goes well mate. You've already seen some of the 1:48 builds some of these guys produce, awesome. One day I may venture into the relms of 1:48, but not for now. Enjoy mate, and post a WIP. Deacon
  18. I'm not sure whether it is the old Frog kit David. I got the build moved Chris, but Mike decided it should be in the 'Ready for Inspection' section. Thanks for the feedback guys. Deacon
  19. Apologies for not picking up on this thread sooner. 2nd place! What won, the real thing? Beautiful build sir, truly awesome. Deacon
  20. Hi guys. I've just finished this build for a Trainer GB. This is Eastern Expresses 1:72 kit. Thanks for looking. Deacon
  21. I have never, ever recieved such great feed back than I have for this build. Thanks. Will - Sorry mate but I've stopped using my airbrush as I just found it a time consuming getting it all ready to put paint on stuff. So, the paint on this kit is applied with a hairy stick. There are about three coats of Bleached Bone on there, the last being quite watery just to get that extra bit of coverage in parts. Nick - the decals are from the kit. I made a mistake applying rigging on the top wing and then trying to slide the decal underneath. Also, you have to get the decal over the 'rgging guide'(?) on the top wing and aileron. This meant the decal was punctured in order to get it to lie flat. So, over lumps and under rigging, they were bound to mis-behave a bit, but, it all turned out all right in the end. Where I had to split them I patched them up with Games Workshop Regal Blue, Vallejo red and white. Cheers Deacon
  22. You nasty man! I'm going to have to try, I just didn't think to put some on. Deacon
  23. What more feedback! Much appreciated, thanks guys. Magpie, perhaps Olive Drab in future then mate? Dave (Alfisti), the under side is Games Workshops Bleached Bone. Perhaps the photo gives more credit than I deserve as I haven't highlighted it or anything. Cheers Deacon
