    Nice tip with the shim of card at the wing tip mate and great progress. I have got to add a SAAF Mustang to my collection sometime so your build id useful. I didn't realise (or forgot) that the interior colour was black!

    Thanks Jörgen, I bought another copy of this kit so I could create '13' flown by Jackie Cochran.

    Although I am a fan of the P-51 (ie. I like them, not that I am knowledgeable) I only saw something regarding the wings being puttied this year and I'm still not quite sure what this is all about?

    That's quick work sir. As for building a K with an Airfix kit, if you buy the Airfix F-51 kit and an Airfix P-51 kit, you can rob the Aeroproducts prop from the F-51 and use it on the P-51. The F-51 boxing comes with a cuffed Hamilton-Standard (HS) propeller also, so you do get to build two complete kits. However, check sources to make sure your F-51 carried a cuffed HS.

    The Airfix P-51 and F-51 are my favourite kit (alongside Revells 1:72 P-51B) so I'll be watching with interest mate.

    This kit has a few firsts for me: First 1:48 Mustang (and only my 2nd 1:48 completed, if I complete it) First Accurate Miniatures build First civil aircraft It will be finished as the Insignia Red '46'. Cheers Deacon
