  1. The enclosed photo, taken from a 1939 colour film inspired me to give the Classic Airframes kit a go. Apart from the main wheels being undersize the kit looks the part in spite of its age. Opening the sliding cockpit roof and adding two figures were the only additions to an otherwise straight forward build. Cheers, Etienne.
  2. Hi chaps, The image in question ( with the Balkenkreuz ) was found on the internet more than eight years ago, but a quick search could not relocate the website. I do recall that parts of the fuselage and wing were very fuzzy and dark and had to be lightened to conform to the rest of the photo. In these parts I added colour but used the identical colours that were on the "better" part of the photo. ..........so yes, about 10% was added by me, but only to present an overall viewable image Have a look here for another colour image of the same aircraft. https://captured-wings.wikia.org/wiki/N3277 Cheers. Etienne PS commiserations with the football.....
  3. Hi there Tim, Short answer,.....................I dunnow. Cheers, Etienne,
  4. rossm, This is a screen grab from a period colour film that was presented on this forum a while ago. I only enhanced the colours to normal tones. The Lysander is an original colour photo that appeared in Aeroplane mag. many moons ago. cheers.
  5. The roundel ratio on this new Blenheim is not strictly 2:5.......with the red slightly bigger than the "normal" as seen on the Lysander from the same period. Could this be a slip by the paint shop or something else? I am planning to build this and I suppose the roundel will have to be hand painted. 😬
  6. Splendid Job with the decals mate.............. The REAL cherry on the cake would be,,,,,,,,,, to find a colour version of the subject! Cheers, Etienne.
  7. Non UK members, go to the IWM film section ..........I have just now viewed it there. Looks like some candidates there .......................😯
  8. Tony, it's been sitting in my flickr site for five years ..................🙂
  9. Here is a colour image converted to B/W of two Baltimore's. Although it does not solve the problem of this thread it illustrates the difficulty of interpreting colour from black and white photos. Cheers, Etienne.
  10. Tony, I have never seen a photo of one in mid stone and dark earth but quite a few profiles Until a convincing image is shown here I'm with you............... Etienne.

  14. I have enlarged the critical part of the image, and I am none the wiser, .........but I do not see the ' hydraulic cylinder ' on the other leg.
  15. Another lines question...........? This time it's a thin red line on mainly Bf 109's but also on Ju 88 cockpit glazing.
  16. Thanks for the great input chaps.........especially fernandocouto for the very nice photo as well as Black Night. Your info makes perfect sense. Now my soul can rest............ Cheers.
  17. The angled lines on the fuselage of the H S 126 has always been puzzling me........ I know it had something to do with the dive angle, but how did it benefit the pilot because he could not see them from his position. Any experts please.............
  18. To me that drop tank looks like PRU blue with the base natural metal showing through on the nose.......................
  19. Here is my effort from four years ago. Etienne.
