1/48 Zvezda Messerschmitt BF 109 F 2
Kasatka replied to Manu's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Hi, Manu! This is a very good looking Fridrich! I really like the camo! How did you do this web? Great photography as well =) -
Excellent model! I like the finish! What did you use to tint the canopy? Sergey
-
Thank you The color I used for the cockpit was consulted with Edgar =) He suggested that the color of the cap on Tamiya bottle of XF-71 seemed to be a perfect match for the interior color (not the paint inside the bottle), so I went to mix colors to get it matched to the color of the cap =) Sergey

I am glad that you liked it =) Thanks! Sergey

Thank you very much to all of you for your kind comments =) Sergey

I finished this model to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain I actually never liked this aircraft... But recently.. may be because I lived in the UK for too long or may be because I became a British I felt that I must like it... anyways.. I started kind of like Spitfires and purchased all variants (except Mk 22-24) in 1:48.. I started with Mark I. I would like to thank Edgar who was kind to help me with his advices in respect to this particular model and its prototype. Thank you, Edgar! =) IN-PROGRESS PICTURES I used Eduard, PART, Ultracast resin (not the control surfaces), CMK wheels, Extradecal decals. Here are few pictures of my model. I apologize that on the photos the moving part of the canopy is the other way around.. I was so in hurry to finish and photograph the model so I put it wrongly. Now it is glued correctly, but I have no any power left to re-take the pictures.. =) :shithappens: This model represents the Spitfire Mk.I, P9386, QV-K of No. 19 Squadron, Fowlmere, September 1940, flown by Sqd.Ldr. Brian J. (Sandy) Lane (Extradecal decals) I think this picture of Brian Lane is probably the best wartime picture of a RAF pilot.. Shows a lot of emotions and energy. MORE IN-PROGRESS PICTURES I hope you like my model. All you comments and criticism are welcome =) Cheers Sergey

I have recently finished this model with a great surprise as to the quality of the kit. I really enjoy the build! The fit was excellent and I almost did not use any putty at all. I use some photoetched from Eduard, Master barrels, CMK wheels, Quickboost exhausts, Extradecals decals. As I said - I really enjoy the kit. I don't say that I ever buy any other Airfix models, but thus particular one is their success. There few pictures of the build More in-progress pictures - IN-PROGRESS PICTURES

Mike, my pleasure! I am sorry if "you are wrong" sounded too rude. To add to the info about Su-15 that hit KAL007. According to a 100% accurate info from a pilot of Osipovich's squadron - Osipovich flew that mission on a basic Su-15 (Flagon-A) but of the latest series. It had Orel-D radar but Fladon-A nose cone, the fin was of Flagon-A, but the wings were similar to TM (not triangular), single wheel nose leg, R-11 engine, Osipovich flew with R-98T and UPK-250-23 (gunpod) GrahamT, to your question on whether the speed brakes are open or closed on the ground the answer is - normally they are closed. The "thing" on the fin of General's model is correctly placed for pre-production and first few production examples of Su-15 (until No 11-31). I am still building mine... http://forums.airforce.ru/showthread.php?t=2841 Have to correct flame stabilizers inside the exhausts. They should be deeper inside.. Cheers Sergey

Mikes big 2010 project - Trumpeter 1/48 Su-15TM Flagon F
Kasatka replied to AnonymousER99's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Hi, Mike typical loadout was: outer pilons - R-98R and R-98T inner pilos (small) - R-60 The gunpod was used sometimes but not often. Cheers Sergey -
Sorry, but you are wrong The Flagon that hit the KAL 007 Boeing-747 was not a Su-15TM. It was a Su-15 Flagon-A. The Begemot's decals are wrong in this respect and it was admitted by them. (http://forums.airforce.ru/showpost.php?p=49920&postcount=47). It was also confirmed by the pilot (Osipovich) himself in his interviews. Su-15TM was involved in another incidents in 1978 but over Murmansk with another KAL but 902 (Boeing 707). I hope this helps. Sergey

Mine pictures are not that great.. dull skies were terrible.. but anyway.. There were moments when it felt like on the real airfield during the Germans raid.. Fantastic show!! http://picasaweb.google.com/sergey.archako...BritainAirShow#
-
There should not be any gap in that area. As said above you might have missed the part that fills the gap. http://modelism.airforce.ru/workshop/su-15tm/index.htm Cheers Sergey
-
Excellent progress! Please finish it! (so I could start mine) =)

Thanks to Edgar who told me that the correct color is the one which the cap of Tamiya's XF-71 has. Not the paint inside. Cheers Sergey

What is wrong with the NeOmega one? Excellent and most accurate cockpit for MiG-29
-
hi, goon Very nice model you have!! What color did you paint the wheel wells with?
-
Arkady, nice job on the wheel bays! They add a lot of details!
-
Begemot is currently designing the whole lot of different decals for Mig-29 in 48th. There will be separate stencils sheets as well. There are about 100 different variants of MiG-29 in development. The release date to be confirmed but I am told it is about 80% done. Cheers Sergey

ICM Su-27 out of the box is the most inaccurate kit. It's a joke This kit became an object for various petitions and open letters to ICM especially after their advertising the kit as the most accurate prior release. The management of ICM was even forced to apologize for the model. Just have a look on what NeOmega offers to correct the ICM kit. And you will understand what the problems are. Cheers

no, hannants dont sell them i mentioned in the first post www.neomega-resin.com cheers

it was not a subject of the set, i guess afaik, it is not difficult to correct "at home" if hands are growing from a right place =) Cheers Sergey

Hi, Jonners! I am watching your build with huge interest! Thank you for your tips and walkthrough your corrections! One thing I wanted to mention. Since your wings will be fixed in one position why in order to correct the shape of the wing gloves not to cut what is not visible inside on the wings in order to shape the gloves? Just the idea and I am sure you have considered it already. Cheers Sergey -
The work you've done on the foiling is well worth it! Alclad would not be any near to this finish! Well done!
