  1. I have a bit of a 'thing' for aircraft in Irish Air Corps colours, and this is my seventh. Special Hobby's SM 260 may be a better kit, but I really enjoyed this one by Kovozavody Prostejov. I added some seat belts, and some aerials to match the Irish fit, but nothing else. The decals are from Max Decals as the KP ones are the wrong size, don't have the underwing serial, and are obviously pixelated. Unfortunately Max's decals are a little out of register, which is obvious in the photos but less so in reality. The only problem with this kit, and the SH model apparently, is getting enough nose weight in the tiny space available to prevent tail-sitting. There is no guidance in the instructions about how much weight to add, but I crammed little slivers of lead sheet in to every available bit of space between the instrument panel and the front of the engine cowling, cutting tiny pieces to get in to every possible gap; and it was only just enough to hold the nose wheel down. '226' was delivered to the Irish Air Corps in April 1977 and retired in 2006. After retirement and sale it continued to fly in this scheme as N224AP in California, and the registration remains valid at the present time.
  2. That's something quite different. A first step for a diorama perhaps? Some inspiration in the link? Boeing 737 fuselages
  3. Could that possibly be Matt? I saw his AK recovery Land Rover, which he has started building. All three versions were in the Salisbury Model Centre last weekend and, as I know the new owner, it would have been rude not to buy one. I have the hard top, kit model 13! I hope it's lucky for me.
  4. Superb, quite superb. That Russet Brown takes you back to the 70s with quite a bump... for those of us who remember them!
  5. As alluded to by other commenters, a nice Edsel!
  6. The styrene wheels look better than I would have expected. I did the version of this kit with the etch wheels and found them less challenging than expected as the kit supplied jig makes them a lot easier to assemble. Congrats on a super build.
  7. Nice truck. Seeing builds like that may tempt me to try one...
  8. I thought the first photo was real until I took a second glance. Very good indeed.
  9. You'd never believe that this was built from the old Frog kit unless you told us, it's a belter.
  10. You made that from the Airfix kit? Really? Wow; respect.
  11. That's absolutely marvellous. Aircraft and figures, very atmospheric.
  12. That sums it up rather well. Another fabulous model from Libor.
  13. An amazing paint job has really brought that tiny model to life.
  14. I thought the first three photos were reference shots: superb.
