Thank you all for your kind comments! I'll try to post some photos of the build. -
I used Tamiya's Lancaster kit to backdate it to Avro Manchester. From Sanger's kit i only used the engine nacelles which i reworked a lot as they were outshaped, outer wings and the clear parts for upper and rear turret. I scratchbuilt the bomb bay, turrets internal structure, fuselage interior, lead landing lights ,exhausts, radiators, propellers. I reworked the poor Sanger vacuform wings with Archer resin details and rescribed the panels and the tail section. The Browning guns came from the excellent MASTER sets. All other details such as cockpit, flaps etc came from Eduard biged set. The roundels on wings were painted using masks. All other insignia and squadron codes are from Xtradecal sets. I painted it using Xtracolor paints. It represents an aircraft from 207 squadron RAF at Waddington Lincs. during 1941.

1/48 - Fairey Battle Mk.I by Trumpeter - release in 2024-2025
Elias replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Any new kit of Battle is more than welcome. The CA kit was a mess. -
In the available photos it seems that it was painted with some light colour. That is a bit strange due that they were night bombers.

Xtradecal released a set (part #3) of overseas Ansons which contains markings for a Greek AF aircraft. Unfortunately it lacks the underwing roundels 🙄 Wish that Xtradecal will correct it.

Thanks for your reply! Any ideas about the interior colour? I'm building a Manchester and I'm towards aluminium or interior green.

Thank you for your replies. From the existing photos there a small window at the back. I have only seen one photo that it shows the turret missing the window while the aircraft was on the ground. Can't figure out if the gunner could open it on the side or totally removed it.

Hello to everyone, Does anybody know if the back of the FN 7 Botha turret (used in Sunderland, Stirling,Manchester etc) had an escape hatch or a door? Thanks in advance

Generally the pre war roundels were lighter. It depends on the actual aircraft aircraft that you build.

Tamiya's X-4 Blue is the best option for Spitfire. Now for the PZL I would suggest a more light blue.Maybe again the X-4 with a little white.

Hello to all! Does anybody know if the kit is available outside the UK? Can't find it in a EU mail order.

Eduard Spitfire Vc in 1/48,painted with Greek AF markings, during late forties. This particular aircraft was built as Vb and converted to Vc. It came in Greece during 1946. The model was painted with Alclad and Xtracolor. I used custom made masks to paint the markings. Decals used only for serial numbers. Elevators are from Mark Ix Spitfire.

I mainly use Tamiya X-4 or Xtracolor RAF Roundel Blue.
