  1. Another colour question ? Anyone know what the best match for the Balast Missiles as fitted to the front two stations on the Phantom, think they were Oxford Blue but I cant seem to find a match and my forst attempt at matching was disasterous
  2. I was talking to one of the Airfix guys about the 1/24 Mossy and he reckons they will do another run prob in 2015
  3. Giorgio, Bill thanks very much for the replies I will check out the Gunze and Xtracrylics tomorrow at Telford, should be able to smuggle those in past the wife easy enough Jonathan, thanks for the pictures and the tips, I will be taking my camera to get some shots of the Toombs, I used to work on them way back in 81 at Wildenrath in Germany, but as we didn't have mobiles with cameras I can't find many pictures. Biggest issue is matching colours between instructions and paint companies
  4. Help please, just started a Revell FGR2 and looking at the paint colours I need some help. Most of my paints are Tamiya, and the Revel instructions are pretty poor for colours, I've looked at various colour charts etc but still not sure what I need. I'm going to Telford show tomorrow so can get some paint, what would anyone advise for the Grey Green Camo scheme of the 70/80's. Also what to use for the ejections seats and cockpit area Here's hoping someone replies before the show
  5. Thats a lovely Phantom, Ive just got a Revell 1/48 of the Stash ready to start, hope it turns out like yours What colours/paints did you use if you dont mind me asking as I am having trouble getting the colours right
  6. I was told by a couple of different people at the show that Ray wasn't producing any more kits for the foreseeable future, when I checked online the company was wound up last year ! Heres to hoping I'm wrong
  7. Great thanks pte1643, I still haven't got the hang searching aftermarket bits
  8. Loving this build, I have two Revell ones, just waiting to find some 19 & 29 Sqn decals before I start, got the big Ed set for one. So keep up the good work as I am looking for ideas tricks for mine.
  9. Fit seems pretty good with the bits I've test fitted, can't wait to get stuck in, methinks I've got a bit of repairing to do when I start the engine. Hopefully take some more shots of everything tonight and get them posted while I wait for the other bits to arrive
  10. Well Hi all, Ive been a member for ages but not posted or visited for a while due to work and other commitmants I havent done any modelling for a while. Well after visiting Telford last weekend, I got the bug again. Picked up a Vintage Fyling Series 1/24 P-47D Thunderbolt Ive never attempted anything of this size before so it will be untersting to say the least ! So far Ive noticed a few bits off the spues as it isnt a new kit by a long way, I believe Vinatge has stopped trading ? If all goes according to plan she will be done in RAF colours. And just to give an idea of the size of this beast ! More to come later, Ive ordered some after markets bits, and a book RAF Thunderbolts to help me along, Ive also looked at two other excellent builds of this model, links of which i will post later.
  11. Count me in please, about time I joined in something
  12. truely stunning collection, wheres the 19 Sqn toomb ?
  13. Wow this is truly an amazing build, I have the same kit in my stash and some Eduard PE for the cockpit ready. I want to do it in 19Sqn colours as I was on that Sqn in Wildenrath back in 1979/80 So if anyone has any pictures from that Sqn and era I would be ever so grateful In fact any info at all, especially if anyone nows where I can get some 19Sqn decals ?
  14. May have to try it then, I have had some Glue from them
  15. Will they ship that to the UK ?
