  1. Good lord, I could not imagine putting this amount of detail in such a small model. Bravo.
  2. or her nephew, Arctic, (I have heard that their relationship is very distant, though, some say that they are half a world apart).
  3. I guess you are right. Ha ha. I find myself rather tired (been up for a long time working on the Blenheim, but it is almost done, save for the engines, antennae, painting and decals). I am feeling a little bit cross-eyed now, so I should probably rest. Cheers.
  4. Yes. No. Maybe. Perhaps.
  5. I forgot I had a Mig-23 as well. This will be between the tractor and the Hampden as I need more nose weight.
  6. I have been off-line for a while. I needed to help my father out a little bit concerning some health issues. Yesterday I finished my diorama with two Gee Bees in 144th (RFI coming soon), so now onto the Airfix GB. Here is what I am planning (it has changed slightly): 1. Blenheim 2. Brisfit (the one from the Children's Hospital raffle) 3. David Brown Tractor (from Short Stirling kit) Everything after that is a bonus, but the priorities are to build the Hampden, then the Stirling, followed by the Wellington and finally the Battle (which is a Bilek boxing to begin with). I am really tempted to get a few other older Airfix kits, but I think I should focus on buying Heller kits for that upcoming group build.
  7. Yeah, I think it should count, most East Bloc kits tend to fit the bill. I can add you to the list. Good to know. Thanks.
  8. This is a group build devoted for the kits that nobody in their right mind would build. This includes kits from companies with poor reputations in general, such as Starfix and Merlin. Any takers? I might have a couple of tentative entries in the form of the Airfix Vickers Wellington (old tool) and the Bilek 1/72 Fairey Battle (reboxed Airfix), I am sure I can pick up a cheap Starfix or Merlin kit too. Any takers? 1. @Modelling Masochist 2. @Marklo 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
  9. Sounds good, thank you. Have you used Thriftbooks or Abebooks for American book sales? They seem to be quite good.
  10. Not from what I can tell, unfortunately, there was a recreation in a 1990 Australian television film covering the 1934 MacRobertson Miller Air Race titled either Half a World Away or The Great Air Race, that said, it is a very limited shot, which prevents a lot of the outside from being seen. I actually was looking around local bookshops the other day, but I found nothing about the Granville Brothers (found books on Igor Sikorsky, Kelly Johnson and the Wright Brothers, though). The hangar is about halfway done at this point too, it is not all that great in my eyes, but it is not terrible either.
  11. I cannot find any pictures of the hangar used by Granville Brothers (which was a former dance hall). Does anyone have a schematic or can find a picture of it on-line or in a book? I am looking to make the hangar out of card, after I lost the decal sheet for one of the aircraft. (I will make an "under construction" diorama).
  12. Alright, everyone. Maybe a "Cheap and Nasty" group build.
  13. of the H.M.S Illustrious
  14. It sure was. The proceeds from the raffle went to a children's hospital, by the way.
  15. Not so much a purchase, but I won an Airfix F.2B and a Heller F-84 from a raffle.
