  1. I'd love to know where Edgar got his info about some people hating the very idea of Chinese involvement in this hobby. From most of the forums and magazines I've seen nobody cares what country models are manufactured as long as they're good.
  2. I wish Airfix would do more new tool historic sailing ships.
  3. Agree, the Beaufighter's one of Tamiya's best aircraft kits. 1 or 2 minor inaccuracies but I found it goes together even better than the Mossie and it also looks overall very accurate.
  4. I'd definitely go for theTamiya version. The Revell one looks nice but as others have pointed out the spinners don't look right and the wheels/tyres don't either. The Tamiya kit goes together nicely and it looks very accurate (to me anyway).
  5. Unfortunately not. I'd like an injection kit too. The only hope is a company like Hasegawa or Aoshima does one as Aoshima's done Blue Thunder, Airwolf etc.
  6. Blimey! Bit of a shock to see that. I'd have to save up for about 50 years and build a new house just to display it but I'd have a hard time resisting that and the B17 isn't even near the top of my wants lists. The rivet detail looks especially nice.
  7. They're nice kits (I've got one) but seeing as Academy are tooling up a new Phantom there's always room for improvements.
  8. There's definitely room for another Tomcat. I haven't built either the Academy or Hasegawa kits but one area the HobbyBoss kit looks better is things like the wingtip lights in clear plastic and I like the rivet detail on the Hobbyboss one too.
  9. Looks nice but I wish HobbyBoss and Trumpeter would either ditch the rubber tyres or give a choice of plastic or rubber.
  10. I hope Academy does the Spey engined British Phantoms too.
  11. I'll forgive you for the sarcastic remarks. Not everyone likes resin (including me and it's not obligatory to like it) and I thought that VF were producing plastic kits (like their P47 and P40). Maybe I'm wrong but when this kit was announced I don't remember it being advertised as a resin kit (I'm not scared of resin b.t.w. I just prefer plastic kits by a long shot and can't be bothered with resin).
  12. Resin........Resin...........WTF? I was under the impression this would be an injection kit.
  13. Thanks again seawings, will do! I looked for ages and ages trying to find an underwing photo but looks like we finally nabbed those elusive markings.
  14. As the others have said zero, if this gets made it might have a better chance at being fairly accurate. I haven't got many Academy kits but I haven't seen a lot of people saying they're known for inaccuracies.
  15. Don't get your hopes up Lightning fans but on Cybermodeler there's this - http://www.cybermodeler.com/special/2010_acft_subj.shtml
  16. Many thanks for that Seawings! I think I've got it - 2nd photo down on Alex Norton's walk around. I'll have a good look at your site too. Great for reference!
  17. I've nearly finished my old 1/200 Minicraft Spruce Goose but I can't find any guides or photo's as to where the NX37602 decal goes on underneath the wings. I've done loads and loads of Googling but I can't even find one decent picture of the wings underside. Anyone help?
  18. I saw someone on one site a few years back (who said he'd worked at Revell) saying the 1/32 Hunters sold quite well. Seemed genuine enough.
  19. A series of Venoms and Vampires in 1/48 and 1/32 would do me just fine Mr Song!
  20. Drat, thought it wouldn't be a Vampire somehow.
  21. I was hoping this would be injection plastic when I saw the title.....but alas not.
  22. Again, I'm certainly no expert on the Spiteful and Seafang but apart from the wing dihedral which does look slightly out to me does anyone think the spinner on the mock up looks a bit too flat (should be a bit more curved?) and should be more pointed?
  23. Not top of my wants list (how about De Havilland Vampires and Venoms too in 1/48 or even better 1/32 Mr Song?) but still nice to see these. I can't comment on the accuracy of those mock ups as I'm not a Spiteful or Seafang expert but it would be nice to see most (if not all) of the lights such as the wing tip lights in clear plastic.
  24. I've seen loads of people asking for new Foxbats in 1/48 but for some strange reason....nobody's doing one of the most famous aircraft in history. I'd love an injection Firefox from the movie too.
  25. I find that all of these varnishes have problems like yellowing or not drying properly, being milky, not being matt etc, etc . Some people seem to have no problem getting a matt finish but I don't know how the heck they do it. I'll try Revell also but I bet that yellows over time too.
