Thanks for that and the paint recommendation (it wouldn't surprise me if it's found out one day if at least some MKIV's were painted more of a green colour). I've got some Revell paints here somewhere so I'll have a look and see if I have some.

Very OOB MkII Male - gone wrong already...

I'd get the Meng or Takom kits too but you could always do a battle damaged version maybe? Though it would probably be a good idea to do it in a way where you couldn't see the bare interior. -
Typical WW1 tank colour question here. I'm building Mengs Whippet and I need to know if the overall colour is correct. It says to paint it olive brown but the colour does look more green than brown in the instructions (like maybe Humbrols olive drab 155). On various searches I've done people have said Whippets were painted like MKIV's and were more of the usual tan/khaki brown colour they were painted in but others say they were more of a green. And I've read that the example in the Royal Museum of the Army in Brussels is thought to have been painted a dark green. I'm doing the example CAESAR II (A259).

I've got the AMT Akron. Looks a lot better if you leave the framework off the fins (they're not supposed to be there anyway).

Thanks for that list. Seen a couple like Aces High, TB6 and LOA but haven't seen some of the others.

Vulcan pilot outfit colours Ascension Islands 1982?
SeaVenom replied to SeaVenom's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Thanks for that. Good photo. -
I'm making Cyber Hobby's 1/200 kit but I can't seem to find much info regarding the exact colours for this period. The pilots are tiny and not very detailed in the slightest but I thought I'd put them in anyway.

It's about time we had some new tool Venoms also.

Revell and Heller E Types... comparison
SeaVenom replied to cmatthewbacon's topic in Vehicle Discussion
i'm surprised at how bad the new Revell kit is. Ok it's got some good points but that roof line being too low and the stance just doesn't look right with the wheels not covered by the wheel arches properly. Plus the tyres look too small. -
Anyone else surprised how bad it is? Ok it's got some good points but the roof line is too low and the stance just doesn't look right with the wheels not covered by the wheel arches properly. Plus the tyres are too small.

1/48 De Havilland Vampire F.3 by Airfix - released
SeaVenom replied to Bjorn's topic in The Rumourmonger
Great to see........but I doubt I'll be building any more Vamps for a while as I've already built a few Special Hobby ones. Hope it's got clear winglights though. -
Let's hope not. For a start I'd like the detail on the main body to be like the smaller Mark1 1/720 Zeppelins with all the girder work on there. Makes it much easier to paint all the variations etc and just adds some nice scale detail. Plus not forgetting that Hawk retooled their 1/245 Graf Zeppelin a few years back and replaced the old vacform body with a new injection plastic body.

Cheers for those. Nice shots there.

Even though I haven't stuck it yet I tried fitting the main cockpit floor part (with the seat and joystick parts etc all glued on to it} but I noticed the joystick actually bends when you put it in position as it goes right up against the cockpits left side and the seat goes up against the main cockpit rear so that the whole floor part bends down at an angle. Anyone else have trouble with this? It looks like I'll have to remove the stick and glue it elsewhere and the seat. It also looks like the joystick will interfere with the main cockpit dashboard.

Thanks for those. Good reference.

Shame they can't add a new sprue or two to make the Halifax more accurate.

I've seen people saying about PVA before but when I've tried it it just hasn't stuck the plastic. It doesn't weld like styrene glue does from what I've experienced. Same with Clearfix.
