  1. I finally decided to make the wheel wells deeper. The original Hasegawa wheel wells look like this : Used the Dremel to cut out the bottom of the wells : A made a new wall with plasticard : Thanks to Edgar the hatches for the landing lights have been filled and sanded, thanks Edgar Greetings, Pascal

The new triangle for the Sutton Harness is finished, it looks better then the first one I made : The radiator housing was removed from the wing, and the sides were bent at a 90 ° angle : With the program paint, I drew some vertical black and grey lines to simulate the radiator and added some plastic strip : Greetings, Pascal

  5. The seat belts have been changed. I used this picture as a reference : I cut off the little silver parts, and made a new square with a hole : The "triangle" was made from 3 pieces of copper wire, the "rope" is also very thin copper wire : Hope this looks more like a Sutton harness.   6. Thanks Edgar Both fuselage halfs have been glued together last weekend, but I'l try to make the necessary changes to the seat belts. Did some work on the wings, first I added a little detail to the ailerons, scribed a new "U"- shaped line for the outermost hinge (the holes that I made to simulate the rivets have been filled and sanded, only those on the ailerons will remain) : Then made the reinforcement strips : Greetings, Pascal

What are extended horn elevators ? @ Dave Flemming : I suppose this means different panellines and different bulges for the cannons ? @ davidelvy : the canopy rails on the rear section of the canopy are included in the Mk VI kit, as is the triangular clear view panel : Thanks again Greetings Pascal

I'm collecting info for a future conversion project : The first one that I want to build is the HF Mk VII, MD 188 of Wing Commander Peter Brothers : Source : hyperscale.com I've made a "to-do list" : 1. An insert in the nose to make it longer. 2. Larger airscoop. 3. Bigger fin, with a pointed tip 4. Panellines for the wings tanks. 5. Fill the lines for the cockpit enty door. 6. Retractable tailwheel. Does anyone have a picture of the pressure bulkhead behind pilot’s seat ? The second one is the Mk IXb, (SM 41) MH 434, in the colours of the belgian "Cogea Nouvelle" compagny that flew this Spitfire from the mid fifties till the early sixties as a target tug from the Raversijde Airbase in Oostende : Artwork by Fernand van de Plas Source : strijdbewijs.nl To-do list : 1. Time for another update, a lot of work has been done, but progress is slow : I gave the instrumentpanel a coat of black + dark grey, and did a dryfit with the fotocpopie of the Aires instrument acetate : Added some ribbing to the floor : Started detailling the cockpit sidewalls : Some of the parts have not yet received the wash of raw umber oil paint with white spirit : I added some photocopies that I took of the Waldron cockpit placards set : And finally, I made some switches and added a couple of details : Greetings, Pascal

Because I'm not very good at painting instrument panels with raised details, I decided to make an new one from scratch : I took a photocopy of the acete film, left Eduard, right Aires : The PE from the Aires-set was used as a template : The rings for the instruments were made from pieces of a ballpoint pen : The materials that were used to make the rings : Greetings Pascal

It's been a while since my last post, so it's time for an update : The light bulbs for the gunsight are not included in the Hasegawa kit, so I tried to make them from scratch : Bron : airliners-net Started with a piece of stretched sprue, and shaped it into a "bulb" : A comparision with the Aires set : After painting it looks like this : The insides of the fuselage was painted with Humbroll 78 cocpit green :

  18. Can anybody tell me what colour the seat and the seat-cushion should be ? The BBMF AB-910 has a brown colour for the seat and a green one for the cushion. Are these colours accurate ? Greetings, Pascal
  19. Another update : The rudder-pedal-assembly by Hasegawa is a bit too big, so I altered the part, and made new tubes from brass : I'm not pleased with the holes for the pedals, these will receive some extra work. Greetings Pascal

Thanks for the replies It's been a while since my last post, so here's an update : Did some work on the seat and the cockpitwalls : Made a bulkhead for the rudder-pedal-construction : Made a cockpit "floor" from brass (I made one from scrap-plastic earlier, but that one gave trouble with the primer) : End of part 1

I found a review of the Matchbox F Mk 22/24, by Robert Humphreys : "The kit was released in 1976, it features recessed panel lines, these are a little too deep even in this scale, but they can be worked on. There are a number of panellines missing and the oval bulge seen inboard on the upper wing surface, is not clearly or correctly defined. ... over-complication of the breakdown of the component parts, as this kit has a separate wing centre, and even seperate wing fillets. Dimensionally the kit is accurate in span and length and the profile of the nose is acceptable. The only problems I can see are that the bulges over the engine cylinder heads are too short and their true contours have not been captured. ... the profile of the elevators, especially around the balance weight at the tip, is incorrect. This inaccuracy results in the elevator being the wrong profile and the overall span of the tailplane is therefore short." Good luck with this project. Greetings, Pascal
