  1. Hi peter Nice build, its comming together well as I've kept an eye on your build I love this kit as I've built two of them already and have another one in my stash for a later date enjoy finishing the model Norman
  2. Deecee thats the area I was questioning and now I know before progressing Excellent : I shall read with interest your articles and thank you for posting them, I'm sure they'll be of great help to me and many others Thank you Norman
  3. Hi guys Anyone who's built / building this model will be able to help me, is it worth scratch building a firewall between the engine section and the wheel well section before I glue these sections together? Or once built is there a gap noticeable? Thank you in advance Norman
  4. Small update I've worked on the bomb bay doors this morning, to get a flush fit to the fuselage, I've used the two cut-out slots (intended for the gun pod) to insert lengths of plastic strips to help prevent the doors from collapsing in to the bomb bay while glueing. Once dried I sanded the these flush as well as the raised hing covers on both sides of the fuselage , I've replaced these lost items with strips of plasticard. I'll rescribe any panel lines detail lost while sanding thats all for now Norman
  5. Graham excellent work on the Canberra, neat looking NMF finished model you've done You've also pointed out a few items to watch out for, which is a great help while I construct mine Once again great work Norman
  6. Tony you are correct as I did follow the instructions and ended up with one aileron a lot thicker than the other and I thought it was a mistake I'd made myself, so I ended up with a lot more work thining them both down. Graham you too are correct as I checked this out with my friends kit parts against my glued wings and they are slightly over scale in thickness, but by following Airfix's instructions, I had to do a lot more work on one aileron, than the other, but nothing that wasn't sorted with some elbow grease and a little sweat Now I can go rob a bank as I have no fringer prints left Thank you for your input guys Norman
  7. Here's a few snaps of the progress on the Airfix kit Nothing is painted at this stage as I can pretty well paint the cockpit detail prior to fitting the nose section, most of what can be seen can be painted from outside of the air frame. 80% of the smaller parts are glued together and ready for clean up, prior to going into the spray booth, with luck I'll be able to pre-shade the air frame and parts before the weekend. Theres no real problems in building this kit, except to say check the parts before glueing together, as I have one aileron thicker than the other (my mistake) Norman
  8. Thank you Paul for the information I've already filled and sanded the kits rudder smooth, but will consider a replacement rudder when I use the CA set in the airfix kit when the B-2 version is released. Many thanks again Norman
  9. Thank you Tony for your fast responce Norman
  10. Would I be correct if I fill in the scribed lines in the Airfix kits rudder? before I set about it with the airbrush Thanks in advance Norman
  11. Its looking good Den few questions please Have you come across any fit issues at this stage? Since I never really had a good look in the box, when I bought mine, is there scope for some scratch build work to improve things a little? looking forwards to the rest of the build Norman yes mate the one and only I havent played IL-2 for 6 months or so due to other matter thats needed my time, but I'm back in training
