Mark,
These are ace!!! I'd love to be able to get an opportunity to do this type of photgraphy!
-
Yeah that was pretty amazing if only to watch! I hope they do this again next year as well...
Thanks James, yeah it was a bit bleak but then again it made the run all the more special, seeing both burners on 728 like that sent shivers down my spine, awesome stuff.Regards,
JB.

Cheers lads,

As has been mentioned on the forum, the LPG held their Twlight Run with XR728. We were treated to two runs after she got started; unfortunatley this was prooving too much even for the 2.8 lens to get a decent shot! The Bucaneer also did an engine run after the LPG boys had finished too.
Hope you enjoy the shots.

Dan,
Thanks for the comment, i think the experience with the camera comes over the years I have had the camera - Like you say it helps if you know how to use it and you are not afriad to experiment with settings and different shutter speeds. Using the sun and other elements also helps too.
Cant wait to go back to the loop soon I hope!
They are great, others might have all he gear, but you appear to know how to use yours.Dan

Tasty stuff matey !! What lens ??
Gundy; I usea Canon 30D and a 100 -400 IS L - Got a 70 - 200 2.8 but its not long enough for the Corris Corner turn -
Cracking shots, nice to see an Eagle take Corris corner low down.Nice to see the pilot tapped in the burners for the pass.
Shaun.
Shaun - Thanks for the comment - I saw on my mates Flickr page that the pilot taps in the burner on the top at 90% and the underside at 70% to get them round the corner... Makes for a cracking shot
Cracking pictures, thanks for posting. It's going to start getting cold up there now!!!!!.
Chris.
Stringbag - It was getting cold and wet up there when we left! Mind you I got to see vertical snow in March 2008 when I went there!!!
Thanks for the kind comments gents

Mike,
I'll gladly take you there or if you wanted to meet somewhere etc.. I'm sure we can sort something out. I must warn you however, that the traffic there can be good one day, and poor the next - its all down to the weather - I waited 2 years to snap an Eagle low level so its all luck of the draw. The most I have seen in a day was 29 passes, the least was 2 and that was in 2 days of being up the hill in the rain, mist and snow....
Daz, what camera and lens have you got? I would advise if you are going that you need a fast lens, my weapon of choice is a 100 -400 is L but mosty the guys who go regularly are shooting on very expensive prime lenses!
A few more shots when the weather has been kinder:

and here too :

I thought I would posta few shots on here of what I can only describe as the LOUDEST experience I have heard in a long while. The picture quality is not particularly great, it was very claggy but it made for some great vapour shots - anyway enjoy the pics

Peter, Fantastic kit so far, I hope you don't mind, I have added a pic of my 32nd model I have just about completed below.

-
Thanks Col' .. there are some more on my flickr page (www.flickr.com/jamesv9820) take a look
As for the wing, i'll take your word for it, its hard to tell to be honest but I think you are right with the roundel giving it away
No, you can tell the wings are in the MSG scheme as they have the full coloured roundel on them (MSG painted aircraft had the roundels in normal red/blue) -
I think its just the light on the wings. Photographing in the valleys is not the easiest for this reason.
I have posted a pic of "GV" in the hills, whilst it is not the same airframe, I cannot see the paint schems changing
There is a picture by "BatmanIX" in his post on UKAR in the following link, Its fourth from bottom in his second post and shows 43(f) squadron "GO", ZE341.It looks like it has the standard F3 camouflage scheme, with the exception of the wings which appear to be the later Medium Sea Grey scheme. I havent seen this combination before (And may not again!) Any thoughts on this one?

A truely awesome event and well worth the money..
Some more if you need any encouragement

XV571,
Many thanks for your reply - Hopefully I can get started with the external colours now!
James
Yes, they're correct. All USAF F-16s were originally delivered in a three grey scheme (36270 and 36118 on the top, 36375 on the undersides). When going through a depot repaint the underside grey changed to 36270. The radome isn't painted but starts out as 36270 and darkens as it ages. For a detailed insight into the F-16 see the pinned thread on Zone-Five here:http://www.zone-five.net/showthread.php?t=231
The cockpit interior will be Dark Gull Grey FS 36321.

Just found this on F-16.net. Dont know if it is right tho??
"36118 (Gunship Grey) on top
36270 (Neutral Grey) cockpit area, vertical stab, and bottom
choose any grey you like for the radome"
Can anyone confirm??

Hi,
I am currently building the excellent 1/32 scale F-16 CJ from Tamiya, probably one of the best kits I have ever built. I am having trouble with ther ASSpray codes to find an alternative to these and I want to ask other modellers on here if they have any Xtracolour/Xtracrylics or Vallejo or even the FS Numbers for the following:
AS-10 - Ocean Grey
AS-26 - Light Ghost Grey
AS - 27 - Gunship Grey
AS -28 - Medium Grey
If there are any f-16 or paint experts out there that can help me, I would be most greatful

Great job so far - I looked at this kit over the weekend and I think from seeing the detail inside that I might just have to buy one of these! Cracking job, looking froward to seeing it all unfold.

I have a seat for the trumpter set; if you are interested, PM me and I am sure we can come up with something
I have asked on the "other" sites,if someone was willing to loan or give me one of the kit seats. (I obviously don't have the kit)
I have already done a MK5 for the Dane F-100. It is almost the same. The main differences are the oxy bottle and attachments are on the right side instead of the left. (I want to make sure te resin seat will fit properly).
Let me know if you are interested. I would send it back, plus the resin version when I get it finished.
Cheers,
Harold

Hi everyone,
Its been a long time since I have had a chance to do an update but I think I am nearly getting there with this one now. After adding the hard demarcation, wet and drying it back as I did not like it, filling and then starting over again we are now nearly getting to the end result and please find attached a few picsI took a few pics this morning outside, nothing special but it give you an idea of the size of this model.
It have been said by a lot of people that it is not excatly worth its £99 original price tag and to some certain extent I would agree with that; however seeing it nearly finished, complete with a Fuel Probe from Heritage Aviation; I do have to disagree; It certainly does look the part!
I did want to ask and the reason for this post; do you think the model is too clean and shiny~? Comments would be appreciated as I have only applied a Klear wash and mild panel was and nothing else as yet. I was going to finish the weathering off with some oil stains and further weathering; I just did not want to go too over the top if that makes sense.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Advice needed - Calling all tornado F3 experts
in Aircraft Modern
Posted
Hi all,
I am after a little bit of advice for the above old kit. I have seen one review online that someone has done in the past. Although it was said it is not the best kit in the I really would like to make a really good kit out of this. I would like to make this kit complete with flaps/slats extended, 11sqn to go along with my Lightning I recently completed.
SO
My question to the experts would be can I possibly use either of these two sets (the Paragon or Flightpath GR4 sets) Paragon or paragon on the F3 model? I am unsure if the GR4 and F2/3 Shared the same wing design - Could someone possibly clarify if these could be used or not?
Has any one had any experience of the Avionix Cockpit set for the F2/3 Avionix? is it worth the money?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing before I order any parts!
Regards
James
