  1. Hi all, I am after a little bit of advice for the above old kit. I have seen one review online that someone has done in the past. Although it was said it is not the best kit in the I really would like to make a really good kit out of this. I would like to make this kit complete with flaps/slats extended, 11sqn to go along with my Lightning I recently completed. SO My question to the experts would be can I possibly use either of these two sets (the Paragon or Flightpath GR4 sets) Paragon or paragon on the F3 model? I am unsure if the GR4 and F2/3 Shared the same wing design - Could someone possibly clarify if these could be used or not? Has any one had any experience of the Avionix Cockpit set for the F2/3 Avionix? is it worth the money? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing before I order any parts! Regards James
  2. Paul, Give me a shout if you want, I can give you a few hints Houston, Glad you got the pics, Sorry I have not had time to reply to your mail but I will do soon Slave, got your PM as well, i'll sort some pics out soon
  3. I got one up in the Loft I think... If you are interested?
  4. Mark, These are ace!!! I'd love to be able to get an opportunity to do this type of photgraphy!
  5. Yeah that was pretty amazing if only to watch! I hope they do this again next year as well...
  6. Cheers lads, John, I saw yours, they looked very good as well. I dont think people will actually appreciate how dark it got on the runway!
  7. As has been mentioned on the forum, the LPG held their Twlight Run with XR728. We were treated to two runs after she got started; unfortunatley this was prooving too much even for the 2.8 lens to get a decent shot! The Bucaneer also did an engine run after the LPG boys had finished too. Hope you enjoy the shots.
  8. houston, send me your e mail address and the photos you want and i,ll send it to you.
  9. Dan, Thanks for the comment, i think the experience with the camera comes over the years I have had the camera - Like you say it helps if you know how to use it and you are not afriad to experiment with settings and different shutter speeds. Using the sun and other elements also helps too. Cant wait to go back to the loop soon I hope!
  10. Gundy; I usea Canon 30D and a 100 -400 IS L - Got a 70 - 200 2.8 but its not long enough for the Corris Corner turn - Shaun - Thanks for the comment - I saw on my mates Flickr page that the pilot taps in the burner on the top at 90% and the underside at 70% to get them round the corner... Makes for a cracking shot Stringbag - It was getting cold and wet up there when we left! Mind you I got to see vertical snow in March 2008 when I went there!!! Thanks for the kind comments gents
  11. Mike, I'll gladly take you there or if you wanted to meet somewhere etc.. I'm sure we can sort something out. I must warn you however, that the traffic there can be good one day, and poor the next - its all down to the weather - I waited 2 years to snap an Eagle low level so its all luck of the draw. The most I have seen in a day was 29 passes, the least was 2 and that was in 2 days of being up the hill in the rain, mist and snow.... Daz, what camera and lens have you got? I would advise if you are going that you need a fast lens, my weapon of choice is a 100 -400 is L but mosty the guys who go regularly are shooting on very expensive prime lenses! A few more shots when the weather has been kinder: and here too : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamesv9820/se...57601638794065/
  12. Cheers guys - 81tfw if you want the full hi res shot e-mail me on jamesv9820@hotmail.com and i'll send it to you
  13. I thought I would posta few shots on here of what I can only describe as the LOUDEST experience I have heard in a long while. The picture quality is not particularly great, it was very claggy but it made for some great vapour shots - anyway enjoy the pics
  14. Peter, Fantastic kit so far, I hope you don't mind, I have added a pic of my 32nd model I have just about completed below.
  15. Thanks Col' .. there are some more on my flickr page (www.flickr.com/jamesv9820) take a look As for the wing, i'll take your word for it, its hard to tell to be honest but I think you are right with the roundel giving it away
  16. I think its just the light on the wings. Photographing in the valleys is not the easiest for this reason. I have posted a pic of "GV" in the hills, whilst it is not the same airframe, I cannot see the paint schems changing
  17. Goose, I was not there on there day but I have PLENTY of shots of F15's from the Heath (not done so well in Wales though!) If you want any, let me know James
  18. A truely awesome event and well worth the money.. Some more if you need any encouragement
  19. XV571, Many thanks for your reply - Hopefully I can get started with the external colours now! James
  20. Just found this on F-16.net. Dont know if it is right tho?? "36118 (Gunship Grey) on top 36270 (Neutral Grey) cockpit area, vertical stab, and bottom choose any grey you like for the radome" Can anyone confirm??
  21. Hi, I am currently building the excellent 1/32 scale F-16 CJ from Tamiya, probably one of the best kits I have ever built. I am having trouble with ther ASSpray codes to find an alternative to these and I want to ask other modellers on here if they have any Xtracolour/Xtracrylics or Vallejo or even the FS Numbers for the following: AS-10 - Ocean Grey AS-26 - Light Ghost Grey AS - 27 - Gunship Grey AS -28 - Medium Grey If there are any f-16 or paint experts out there that can help me, I would be most greatful James
  22. Great job so far - I looked at this kit over the weekend and I think from seeing the detail inside that I might just have to buy one of these! Cracking job, looking froward to seeing it all unfold. James
  23. I have a seat for the trumpter set; if you are interested, PM me and I am sure we can come up with something
  24. Hi everyone, Its been a long time since I have had a chance to do an update but I think I am nearly getting there with this one now. After adding the hard demarcation, wet and drying it back as I did not like it, filling and then starting over again we are now nearly getting to the end result and please find attached a few picsI took a few pics this morning outside, nothing special but it give you an idea of the size of this model. It have been said by a lot of people that it is not excatly worth its £99 original price tag and to some certain extent I would agree with that; however seeing it nearly finished, complete with a Fuel Probe from Heritage Aviation; I do have to disagree; It certainly does look the part! I did want to ask and the reason for this post; do you think the model is too clean and shiny~? Comments would be appreciated as I have only applied a Klear wash and mild panel was and nothing else as yet. I was going to finish the weathering off with some oil stains and further weathering; I just did not want to go too over the top if that makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. James
  25. Thank you - there are tonnes of pics on there, too many infact. i did put the victior shots in recently.. I sa one of my contacts on flickr got it flying sunday - only saw it last year at RAF Marham families Day being accompanied by shiny two and another... that was quite nice to see
