Trumpeter 1/48 DH100 Vampire FB. Mk.5 Kit goes together nicely, I know it has accuracy issues, but quite a nice simple build. Used Tamiya acrylics paints. Hope you like it.

Got this one finished this morning, I know it's not a very accurate kit in terms of shape but it's a lovely sleek aeroplane. More in the gallery.

Made some progress, got the paint on. Silver undersides, Ocean Grey and Dk Green topsides. Should be able to start on the transfers Monday.

Nice clean and tidy build Mick, looks great. Got this kit recently, looks good in the box. -
Hi Paul, welcome to Britmodeller. May have to dip into these Kinetic Harriers...still got six or seven Airfix/Revell/Tamiya kits in the stash though.

Hi Billy, welcome to Britmodeller.

Hi there Aaron, welcome to Britmodeller.

Yes Denis, he is the same author. Very interesting guy if you search him on the Web. Owned and restored a Ju52 which he flew.

Yes, was going to say a nice JG54 A4 or similar.

Welcome to the top of the slippery slope Dave.

I honestly can't see how you would improve on the harness. If you took it apart and remade it, it may look different but would it look any better. Maybe mull it over for a bit and see if they grow on you. -

The XS750 is a real find. That's what I'm hoping to do myself, get an old GS750 Suzuki or a CB750F Honda to do up when I retire.- 65 replies

Hi John, welcome to Britmodeller.

Hi there Johan from Sweden, a warm welcome to Britmodeller. Weathering scares me too, when you've gone to the trouble of painting the model, to start streaking it in oil and dirt seems somehow counter intuitive. When it's done well it does look great though. Look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Like it?...I love it! Great build Les, looks amazing. -
Great model Venelin, always liked this scheme ever since I went to the Imperial War Museum as a kid and bought this book from their bookstore;

Hi there Venelin from Bulgaria! Welcome to Britmodeller.

Found this pic on twitter the other day, don't know much about it but it looks awesome and projects the size of the Vulcan well;

I think you've taken the right tack, it's difficult with a black cockpit so drybrush with silver/white and then find pics of the real thing and just colour in a few knobs and dials with red or yellow. -
As you say kudos to these guys for coming out with these weird and wonderful kits, although I have little interest in the subject matter I find myself wanting to get it.
-
I've just got this kit Mike and for £16.99 it's a real bargain. I stand to be corrected but I think you can make a G-14 from the options supplied too.

Hi there Lurker, welcome to Britmodeller. The 'Group Build' section can be a good place to look if you're needing inspiration to get on with a build...unless you're useless at achieving targets, like me!
